17 1st Half Points...3 2nd Half Points
#1
One of the things that Bengal teams in the past were criticized for was lack of halftime adjustments.

Interestingly, we only scored 3 points in the 2nd half.

There seemed to be some questionable calls. On a 4th and 1, with our pass game working...we did a run and got stuffed. That seemed to be a huge turning point in the game.

Our 2nd half drives resulted in - Fumble, Missed FG, TO on Downs, FG, Punt, Fumble

Taylor definitely had some questionable play calls, but hes a new HC. I think we will improve a ton as the year goes on. We just played one of the toughest teams ever when they're at home and almost came out with a W with 2 major offensive players out.

Bengals 430 yards

The second half was more self-inflicted wounds than failing to adjust. They had the ball 3 times in Seattle territory in the 3rd quarter and got zero points. You had a couple of big drops, CJ tripping up just short of a 1st down, and Andy throwing off his back foot to miss a wide open Boyd that all stalled drives.

I still came away from it encouraged. Really buying in to Taylor.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

3rd and goal and they threw that short ball to Ross too. Down by 4. You gotta go for the endzone there.

With 429 yards...how do you only score 20 points? And 3 were off of a special teams error by Seattle.

Drawing conclusions from 1 data point (i.e. one game) seems like a reach. Its a new coach, and Seattle adjust too...
(Chargers, Vikings, Browns, Redskins, & Lions only scored once after halftime as well. And both the Chargers and Lions blew their lead and had to play OT. The Dolphins didn't even score in their second half.)

Seattle only had 7. It’s not like we couldn’t hang in a shootout. Just a hard fought game.

Yeah well Seattle if the ball doesn't slip out of Daltons
Hands we probally score a TD and at that time
We had momentum.
Then Bullock misses a chip shot.
You can make all the adjustments you want but a missed Block
Or missed tackle can decide a game
On Carsons 21 yd run on 3rd and short Brown had him by the
Ankles
Tyler Boyd slips on a seam route
It's a 1st down if he keeps his feet

This is Taylora 1st game
Yet this team looked better in loss vs the Hawks
Then it did vs the Colts last year under ML
When you consider everything

I thought that Boyd slipped there. If he made that cut it would have been a catch imo, but who knows.

Agree with you there.  My only guess was that the idea was to get closer to the goal line to at least make them think we MIGHT be able to call a run.  Even from that far back everyone knows its a pass.

I'm pretty sure Mike Brown has something Built into the Head Coaches' contract that he Mike Brown gets to call all plays in the second half of every game.

As long as they learn from it and make adjustments. After so long of this, I can have it last for one game with the new guy.

That's the NFL. The margin between winning and losing is generally small.

Well...we beat the Colts last year and they were a playoff team. We lost to Seattle this year. You look better winning than losing.

Well, they missed a FG and got stuffed on a 4th & 1 from the Seattle 36.  Most teams are kicking a FG in that situation, but the Bengals can't trust Randy with a 53 yarder.  They really need to be searching for a replacement for Bullock.  Guy is a liability.

Our CB’s were fine (other than Dre’s stupid penalty). The safeties were not good.

LB’s weren’t too bad either. Brown even forced a fumble.

That could certainly have been the case.

Boyd did slip, but Dalton still could have hit him. One of the few throws he missed today.

Agreed. Was pleasantly surprised with the play of the LBs.
