2021 NFL Mock Draft Challenge: March
#1
Yogo and Essex J. were winners of February but there were many good ones there. Now March challenge is open. Only one submission per month and please list the simulator used like fanspeak etc. If you use fanspeak, please use classic, fanspeak big board. Good luck.

I haven't been involved with the draft for the past few seasons, but decided to jump back in.

I used PFF and no Free Agency was assumed prior to this mock

The first 4 picks were as follows:

1. Jacksonville: Trevor Lawrence, QB
2. New York Jets: Justin Fields, QB
3. Miami: Penei Sewell, T
4. Atlanta: Jaylen Waddle, WR

With my main target off the board I decided to explore a trade back and tap into the great depth of quality players in this draft.  This was the first step down the rabbit hole..

Rest of Bengals draft follows:

10 and 44.

Then traded 39 to the Pats for
46 and 145

10. Kyle Pitts TE Florida
38. Alex Leatherwood OT Bama
44. Jalen Phillips DE. U of Miami
46 Asante Samuel Jr..CB Florida St

I think PFF needs to fix the trade value chart in they Mock Simulator. I was able to trade from #5 back to #12 with San Fransico and picked up a 43,102,117 and their 2022: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th....oh yea and their 2023 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lolol.

Edit: Yea I redid it just to see how far I could push it apparently San Fransico will trade their next 3 draft classes to move up from #12 to #5 to draft Luke Wilson....LoL.
I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

PFN with 2 trades:

23. Alijah Vera-Tucker OT USC

34. Liam Eichenberg OT Notre Dame

38. Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE Wake Forest

40. Trey Smith OG Tennessee

69. Payton Turner EDGE Houston

111. Ihmir Smith-Marsette WR Iowa

150. Deommodore Lenoir CB Oregon

192. Elijah Mitchell RB Louisiana

231. Tony Poljan TE Virginia

233. Kayode Awosika OT Buffalo

In this mock Sewell and Chase were both gone. Seattle gave up a future first rounder to move up, which I used to trade back into the top of the second. IF Ojulari measures in at like 255 with good arm length + jumping measurables, I'd think about taking him over Vera-Tucker at that spot. Big uglies were the focus. Smith-Marsette and Smith both offer some stupidly high upside(as well as risk). In the later rounds I was more looking for good football players over A+ athletic traits.

Decided to do no trades because I don't think we'll go there and the simulators offer and accept too many damn trades.  It's unrealistic.

I used PFN.
Jonathan Marshall is a DT - lots of upside
Both linemen are experienced and built for zone blocking schemes.
Probably should have taken another WR somewhere.
