5th WR 1,000 trio ?

Yes right now all I really care about is winning. I'm sure they'd say that, hell I say that.

But wouldn't it be cool Cool Hasn't happened since 2008 Cardinals

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFL_1,000-yard_receiving_trios

Right now Tee has 861 Ja'Marr has 702 and Tyler 655 with 5 games remaining. So it's very doable I believe.

Boyd will need to tick up his production a bit to reach 1000 yards, but it's definitely possible. I'd love to see it happen.

I was going to say that I don't know if Boyd can do it but he only needs to average 69 yards per game to get to 1000 exactly, so actually, he CAN do it.

Would need 86 yards per game for a 16 game 1,000.

17 games really makes a lot of benchmarks a little less special. If they do end up moving to 18 games it'll make it even worse.

I’d say Boyd will probably be the odd man out again this season, but with the Hurst injury who knows.

Maybe right now since it’s still new, but how often do people bring up the switch from 14 games to 16 wrt records?

I remember debating someone a long time ago about why Rudi Johnson or someone was a good running back cause he got 1000 yards in a season. When they pointed out that a RB only needed to average 62.5 yards a game to get 1000 yards in a 16 game season, it really made me stop and think.

If they Bengals continue to run the ball as well as they have lately, it will be tough to get all 3 to 1000 yards. But I would love to se it happen.

Free Agency ain't over until it is over.

First 6 years BB - 41 wins and 54 losses with 1-1 playoff record with 2 teams Browns and Pats

With Hurst out for however long, I can see some more passes Boyd’s way

Honestly, with the success they have had throwing to the backs recently I think more may find their way into their hands with Hurst out.

Moving to 16 already did that.

1k is 62.5 yards a game at 16 games. Who the hell is impressed with 63 yards a game?

At 17 games it is 58.8.

I mean, I hope we get it and everything, but 1,100 or 1,200 should be the benchmark now.

Not often, but then the NFL statkeeping back then is pretty barebones too. There were no tackles, no sacks.

If you go to NFL.com their individual stats only go back to 1970, or 8 years of 14 games.

Yeah, it can feel like that if you break it down and think about it. If it's done at a high YPC, then I would say it's still pretty good. You can get 286 carries at 3.5ypc and go over 1,000 yards and that's not particularly special but I think 200 carries at 5.0ypc for 1k yards is still an impressive season.

With 17 games it's now just 58.8 yards per game.

Looking at that list and even the list of teams with 3 players over 900 yards, there are a bunch of really damn good teams. We're in good company and it shows.

I don't see Boyd getting there. Missed his chance with Chase out

Remember, the Bengals rested their starters in the final game last year, and if their playoff fate is already decided by the time they play the Ravens, they could do so again.
With that said, each player needs to average the following yards per game for the remainder of the season (which goes up if not wanting to worry about the last game):
Higgins - 27.8 YPG (easy)
Chase - 59.6 YPG (below his season average, so definitely realistic)
Boyd - 68.8 YPG (unlikely since season average is 54.6)
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Patience has paid off!

Just for fun, I looked up Jim Brown's numbers in 12-game seasons.

From 1958-60 he rushed for 1527, 1329, and 1257.

Agreed.
Boyd hasn't reached 1000 yards other than 2018-2019, when he was defacto WR1 with Green out 23 games.

That was great ypc & it helped that he was bigger than the D-lineman that could'nt run a 5 sec 40.
