The Rohingya, a minority group in Burma/Myanmar, have routinely been denied citizenship and basic rights for decades. Over the past week, military forces, in what started as retaliation against insurgent forces, have begun to commit genocide on these people, gathering up the men and burning them alive, beheading children, and shooting women. 60,000 have already fled to Bangladesh.
the UK and the UN have called on Myanmar's leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, to halt the violence. The UN has had to suspend humanitarian efforts in the region.
