8th Circuit Court on Voting Rights Act
#1
A 3 judge Republican panal of the 8th Circuit court out of Little Rock has ruled that the US DOJ is the only party allowed to bring challenges using section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, not individuals or organizations. Section 2 prevents racial gerrymandering that denies groups representative of their choice. In other words, it prevents states from drawing districts that make African Americans a minority in a district where geographically they should be a majority.

In the last 40 years, there have been 182 successful cases brought against Section 2 only 15 were brought by the DOJ.

This will surely be appealed to SCOTUS as the 11th Circuit recently upheld an individual's right to sue.

As long as politicians have the right to draw districts designed solely to keep them and their Party in power, individuals have no power in this country. Representative democracy is no more
