I'm gonna go ahead and guess the NFL darlings have never went 8 straight years without a home opener.
From a personal level my daughter was 10. She just graduated this year.

Enjoy while it lasted. However, I'd rather win-lose the first game on the road. If we lose at home game one? Fug! Seasons done. Fans in the toilet, city calls Trump and declares state of emergency, BLM comes to Cincinnati, more riots, coast guard storms the river, Arts center get a new (Spray) painting, parking attendant mulled, Longworth Hall burned down, woman raped, Covington retreats to Tennessee, National Guard is called, gasoline raises to $8 a gallon and Grippos locks its doors and moves to Pittsburgh!
Not sure we want or need a season opener in Cincy. Although, I could be wrong?

Lest we forget we've also had a number of seasons we both opened and closed on the road. Meanwhile both the Rats and Stealers have had a good number of season with home openers and indeed seasons where they get to both open and close at home.

For the 2009 home opener, the following players suited up for the Bengals:
Carson Palmer
Cedric Benson
Laveraneus Coles
Chris Henry
Bernard Scott
Dan "Butterfingers" Coats
Chad Johnson
Brian Leonard!
Andre Caldwell
On defense we still had...
Chris Crocker
Roy Williams
Dhani Jones
JJoe
Jonathan Fanene
Robert Geathers
Antwan Odom who had his 5 sack game the next week vs GB
And Tank Johnson
Some of those names seem like forever ago

I was at that game. it was the horrendous Stokely tip touchdown. I didn't want another home opener for nine years after witnessing it firsthand. Fortunately, they followed with some nice wins to get things on track.

Stokley was a total asshole for doing that to us.
