Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to Jungle Noise to talk about if Burrow and the Bengals can win their first playoff game since 1017 AD.

Just keeps getting worse. Remember what they said about this strike shortly afterward & all the scrutiny because of losing those 13 brave heroes. Biden tried to get a win & made it look it like he was actually doing something & it turns out they droned children and no terrorists. And now 2 weeks later while he's at the beach they finally fess up.

The hate for the military coming from the right doesn't surprise me. They have been party over country for awhile now.

lol.

NICE DEFLECTION!

That's ridiculous!

We're not hating on the military, we're hating on our vegetable of a president for forcing the military to kill civilians!

Oh!

I totally agree we should stop bombing and killing civilians.

But you started caring about it now?

Quote:Civilians killed in air strikes in Afghanistan soars by more than 300%

The number of Afghan civilians killed in air strikes carried out by the US and its allies has risen 330% since 2017, a US study says.

In 2019 alone, around 700 civilians were killed, the Costs of War Project at Brown University says.

It is the highest figure since the first years of the US-led offensive following the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

The group attribute the rising figures to the US relaxing its rules of engagement in 2017.

Researchers say the increase in air strikes was partly because there are fewer US troops on the ground, but also seemed to have the aim of putting more pressure on the Taliban to negotiate peace.

The US pulled back on air strikes after reaching a deal with the Taliban in February 2020. It has also promised to reduce the number of troops in the country.
But the Costs of War Project found that the the Afghan military has stepped up its own aerial attacks in the months since the US-Taliban agreement was made, as the government in Kabul remains in talks with the militant group.

The Afghan Air Force is now "harming more Afghan civilians than at any time in its history", the group's research paper says.
In the first six months of 2020, 86 civilians were killed and 103 injured in air strikes by the Afghan military.

Last month, the Save the Children charity found that an average of five children have been killed or wounded every day for the past 14 years in Afghanistan.

Data from the UN showed at least 26,025 children were killed or maimed from 2005 to 2019, the group said.

Glad you're finally on board.

We were also in the middle of a war for that.  That's where the term "casualties of war" comes from.  It doesn't mean that those people's lives didn't matter, but that's why we were there trying to achieve a goal.

This was just senseless killing ordered by a man with dementia.

That's an incredibly bad take and I fully expected it from you because you don't care about "civilians" you care about Biden.

No one has a monopoly on caring for civilians.

What exactly are you getting at here, Brad? Were those ‘casualties of war’ okay because we were at war?

If that’s your stance, then these deaths are fine, too. The strike occurred on August 29th. The war of Afghanistan was still active at that point.

Some people use them as further political pawns to make a point about the politician they don't like though.

If there was no crying and beating of breasts about civilians being killed for 20 years I have no problem picking them out when they do now.

They weren't ok but it was a part of war to try to win the war.

It's like when we dropped the two a-bombs on Japan: civilians died but it was necessary to win the war and protect American lives.

This was just a pointless strike by a man with dementia that has no clue what he's doing.

Now people are clutching pearls over murdering civilians??

We're at least 76 years too late to pretend that the USA gives a shit about civilians.

What would you have done, had you received the same intel as those up the chain of command?

Well, that’s another conversation by itself. It wasn’t truly ‘necessary’ to nuke Japan. I’m more interested in staying on topic instead of chatting about that, but that isn’t a great example. Japan was already defeated and the Emperor was discussing surrender with the Soviet Union, but the SU was preparing to break of their non-aggression pact and invade, so this fell through.

What makes this a pointless strike? The drone strike carried out by Biden was a part of the war, we’ve already established that because the war had not ended yet. Perhaps there is a better question…

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/sep/19/us-drone-strike-deaths-afghanistan-pine-nut-workers

This drone strike under the Trump admin killed and wounded over 30 civilians. What is the difference between these two drone strikes that makes one pointless but the other a necessary act of war? Aside from one being carried out by a Republican President and the other a democratic president. Because you were very quiet when this attack happened. There was no outrage from you.

A: your faux outrage is just as idiotic now as it was before. You can't be mad now when you've been dead silent for the last 20 years.

I mean, I guess you can - but everyone of us sees through your bullshit and bad faith outrage.

B: your posts make it seem like Biden was flying the drone and pulled the trigger, which is ridiculous. Choose your words better or choose silence.

First off.  Shhhhh...we don't point out when The Donald makes a fool of himself around here.  But more importantly, how the hell did you get a gif in your avatar?

Biden bombing citizens like so many other presidents and leaders shows he is insane and unfit for office?  Brad is turning all flower power on us.

Also interesting how neo cons defend nuking Japan when it was done by the democrat VP of a socialist 3 term president.  Ah well, as long as we red white and blew people away.
