All-Bengals team just from the Lewis era.
#1
Pick an all-star Bengals team among the players who have played for Marvin.

**Note** while I consider Dillon the best RB in Bengal history, he didn't produce very well his only year under Marvin. So I will not be including him on my team, but you can do whatever you want.

You can only pick the same player once. So you can't have Whit at both LG and LT.

On offense pick 2 TEs, 2 RB, a FB, and 3 WR (one of which had to play a significant amount in the slot)

Pick both a punt returner and a kick returner.

On defense pick 3 CB (in order)

LBs have to be specific position (WOLB, MLB, SOLB)

Safeties can be interchangeable.

Everything else is pretty much straight forward.

The WR corp of Chad Johnson and AJ Green with Housh in the slot is absolutely awesome. Palmer in his prime prior to the injury throwing 70 yard bombs to AJ on a rope.

Damn man.

So the writing was on the wall back then.

LB: Burfict and Thurman on the field at the same time? The other team is going to get combat tattoos galore.

In fairness, he was battling injuries that year.

This seems pretty much 100% spot on. Good job, Shake.

We've always been seemingly thin at S, and IMO Iloka has just about done enough to make his way on this type of "All-Marvin's-Bengals" team. I can't see him dropping off randomly, but I understand that Crocker has been quite solid for us over the years and probably deserves the spot over George.

I wonder how this team would fare against the other Bengals greats pre-Marvin.

Because Marvin added some great talent. It's just mind-boggling how none of these players won playoff games here.

Thanks. That was actually the toughest choice for me. Iloka has been impressive recently, but Crocker really provided stability and veteran leadership for several years.

Good one. I kinda forgot about Adam, but I guess I could throw him in as my KR. I like Warrick for my PR. As a CB, I still prefer James, but it's close.

Dhani's impact on the team is relatively under appreciated IMO.  He came in during a season where we were starting guys like Anthony Schlegel and position-swapee's like Geathers and Ndukwe at LB.  He really helped mop up a mess, and provided stability that helped mold the younger players (eventually) into a great defense.

He wasn't flashy and he was far from his prime when he arrived here, but his contribution was pretty significant IMO.  Even as his physical abilities eroded, he remained a true "quarterback of the defense".  No doubt the smartest player on that unit for a long time.

Thurman was a better player from an ability standpoint, but his off-field flaws are so egregious and stupid that I couldn't put him ahead of Dhani on that roster.

Honestly, I don't see much wiggle room. KR was the only one where I thought "....I have no idea." And running back and wide receiver are the only positions that I felt genuinely bad for leaving a player off.

I am changing my CB3 because, while I think Adam Jones is the best choice, I put him at PR, so I'll pick a different third CB.
