Another Corrupt Justice

First, it was Thomas taking gifts from billionaires now it is Samuel Alito

Fishing trips on a private plane and staying at a public resort on someone else's dime. In this case, it is a billionaire, mega donor to Republicans, with multiple cases in front of the court Paul Singer, extending his "friendship" to Justice Alito. Of course, Alito neither declared the trip nor recused himself from the cases.

In both Thomas and Alito's cases, both billionaires are huge conservative donors whose pocketbooks were opened up by the court's decision on Citizen United. Both have think tank organizations that write dozens if not hundreds of amicus briefs concerning cases in front of the court.

We are hearing a lot today about a 2-tiered Justice Dept...this is where it starts. Rich and powerful men can buy Supreme Court Justices.

How can anyone trust these justices?

I can’t imagine how bad the snowflakes on the right would be freaking out if a liberal justice was flying around with Soros.

Why can't someone fly me out to a resort or fishing excursion?

I can guarantee that I am a much more avid angler than these people and I don't even request 4 star accommodation, let alone 5 star (so long as I catch fish).

Im pretty sure the reason they are so constantly upset is because they're convinced that everyone who isn't a specific type of republican is doing exactly that.

Ginsberg took a more elaborate trip overseas. This is a big nothing burger as the left continues to assault Supreme Court Justices.

They reported them.  Thomas and Alito did not.

Thomas and Alito then decided on cases involving the people who paid for their trips.

Did Ginsberg?  Did Beyer?

If they did not recuse themselves that is bad.  But they did report the trips.  That's better.

Members of the Supreme Court should bend over backwards to show the a American people they are free from influence. Secrecy about gifts from influential billionaires is thumbing their nose at ordinary citizens

But yea. How many billionaires are there? Not that many I'd imagine. Why the hell are so many SCOTUS members hanging out with them?

I hate lifetime appoints to any political position. And that fact we do it with judges is a flashing red alarm light telling me we have a major contributing factor to our busted ass justice system. Then you thrown in the ones all the way at the top of the judicial branch flying around being wined and dined by billionaires... WTF.

Every American should be outraged.

At least some of them reported these things like they should. The unreported ones make it look extra shady.
