well this morning's day to day has become tonite's likely to be placed on IR.  He is heading for a second opinion with De James Andrews.  If this happens we're likely to see Damion "3rd time is charm" Willis called up to take his place

Bengals wide receiver Auden Tate will likely be placed on injured reserve, according to a source familiar with the situation. Tate was knocked out of Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh after he sprained the MCL in his left knee. According to a source familiar with the situation, Tate is seeking a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews but will probably be headed to IR. On Monday, Bengals coach Zac Taylor said he “wouldn’t say it looks great at this point.”

That's odd, I could have swore I saw him playing versus Cleveland, yesterday..

Really improved his 2nd year. Proved what a strong work
Ethic can do for you . Going foward a real nice piece
Of the WR core.
Hopefully we can get him expanding his route tree n the off season
He could start for a Couple teams now

Interesting that he's IMMEDIATELY on IR, yet others continue to waste roster space.

I'm sorry, but who exactly is Tate going to start for?

The Bengals are top five in the league in pass attempts and our de facto #2 for most of the year would have about 750 yards and 1 TD over 16 games.  That's not good. He also has the 2nd worst catch % among WR's on the team, ahead of only Stanley Morgan.

Tate is a decent depth player, but this offense is going to struggle next year if Tate is a significant part of the Offensive game plan.

Indeed. People don't get that. IF you pass as many times as the Bengals do, some WR will put up numbers.

He's probably a #4 or maybe a #3 on a bad team at this point. Hopefully he improves.

It's good that he makes a ton of contested catches. It's bad he has to though because of lack of separation.

There are currently 83 WRs with at least 25 receptions.

Tate ranks dead last (83rd) in catch % (50.0) and 64th in yards per target (7.19).

The Dolphins have Preston Williams and Davonte Parker.  No way he starts there without injuries.

Similarly, the Giants have Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard.  He wouldn't start there, either.

Maybe Washington, as they have nobody except McLaurin.

I don't get why you're so worried about it.
He will be totally ready in 2021 for TC. Sarcasm

But seriously, good luck in his recovery. I was a fan of the pick and still am.

And Hobson will say it's just like getting an extra 7th round pick.

Tiger  Then there is the possibility he works hard over the off season, and gets better....
The only thing I hate worse than Pittsburgh football...
