My brother started to go bald while still in undergrad. He started to shave, before it became too obvious, and I would say that was the right call.

Women like good looking guys....it's purely about whether you look better bald or with thinning hair, or some "augmentation".

Shaving the head is a big step for someone who's never done it (I haven't).  But for many you get that mendoza line where it doesn't look good, and so the choice is either shave or intervene to try to make things better with medication or a transplant.  

Myself I'm probably 5 years away from Mendoza.  If diet and lifestyle, and some supplements, improve the body and fullness, then I'll probably get some transplants to "even things out".  Otherwise I'll have to see how my head looks shaved.  But I think most probably would agree the "Bob Newhart" look is just bad.
