Dre Kirkpatrick not overpaid for 2019
#1
Dre's average salary ($10.5 million) ranks 16th among CBs for 2019.  That sounds like a lot, but I just saw some stats that would indicate he is worth it.

Football Outsiders "Success Rate" credits a DB with a "success" on a passing play if it is incomplete or complete for short yardage (less than 45% of yardage needed on first down, 60% on 2nd down, or 100% on third).  Longer completions or pass interference penalties count as a win for the offense.  In 2018 Kirkpatrick's 63% success rate ranked 4th out of the 79 cornerbacks with enough targets (50) or game started (8) to qualify.

Another stat they use to measure CBs is "Yards per Play".  It is just an average of yards gained per number of pass plays where the CB is targeted.  Dre's 6.7 ranked 21th.  William Jackson is also listed at 6.7 yards per play, but ranked 19th.  I assume Jackson's average was a little lower rounded off to 6.7.  But on average Dre was targeted on deeper passes (15.0 yds) than Jackson (12.9).

BTW Jackson's success rate (54%) ranked 32nd which is not bad for a 32 team league.
