Confederate Flag Misunderstood?
(06-25-2015, 04:37 PM)SteelCitySouth Wrote: If's and But's...They didn't...It was the Confederate flag they used so we can safely contain the conversation to the non-hypothetical.  It is all of the above that makes it wrong to be displayed at the Capital.

You can contain your conversation however you like I suppose, but when asked to explain my opinion I guess I'll go ahead and explain it how I like. I wouldn't let racists take something from me.

Charleston also banned funeral protest for 60 days. LOL Westboro.

The reason the racists took up that flag was because of it's past.  Same reason they took up the nazi flag.  Racists use imagery that is associated with there cause.

Also the only thing I asked you to explain was your definition of Modern Racists.  The rest of what you posted was of your own volition.

Yea, but the bald eagle wasn't designed as a banner for a group that was attacking the United States...

People need to get off the idea that the only reason why we should be against this flag is because of the KKK and people who use it present day as a symbol of racism. It was designed to represent people who were fighting our country.

The powers that be don't care if anyone knows what happened, and it has nothing to do with the rebel flag being demonized.

I don't agree with all of the powers granted in the Reconstruction Acts, but many parts of the Acts were necessary.  the south lost the War and there are consequences for that.  Just like the way the Nazi's were removed from power after Germany lost WWII.

Claiming that the Reconstructions Acts "declared war" is just silly.
The KKK is pretty misunderstood too.

It's that Damn flag. If it wasn't there; that lady would not have been forced to break the law. But I do see folks asking for leniency; cause the Flag made her do it.

I spent 18 years plotting my escape.

My wife was taking pictures of downtown Charleston this weekend and some people wandered into her shot. She thought who are these rude people until she saw the Ohio State stroller.

Are you still here or have you done the proper thing and gone back to Ohio?
