Cornel West just made Biden's life easier
#1
Far left progressive Cornel West was the presumptive nominee for the Green Party. He has been a long term activist in the Democratic Party trying to drag them to the extreme left. The fear, that like in 2016, this 3rd party candidate would siphon enough votes away from the Democratic nominee to hand the election to Trump

Today, West announced he is no longer the Green Party candidate and is now running as an independent.

Why does this make a difference? As a Green Party candidate, West would have been on the ballot in all 50 states automatically. Now, he has to come up with enough money and volunteers to collect signatures in all 50 states, individually. And even if he manages to get on the ballot in important states like Michigan or Pennsylvania odds are he won't have enough money to do anything.

I'm not saying he won't have an impact but it is far less than it would have been with a party apparatus behind him

Either way, what can he be thinking--to give the election over to someone like Trump.

One of the fundamental problems with the two-party system in a nutshell. Go away, Cornel West, you have no right, just endorse Biden and shut up. Which, of course, is indeed the reasonable thing to do for any left-leaning individual, but it's also an awful reality.
