Over the previous two seasons('17-'18) Ryan Switzer ranks 4th in the league in both punt returns and punt return yards. His average (8.6) was average but consistent (8.8 in '17, 8.4 in '18)

Over the first two years of Switzer's college career at UNC ('13-'14) he led the nation with 61 punt returns. He had a very good 11.0 average over those two seasons but look at the crazy splits

'13... 24 ret, 502 yds, 20.9 avg, 5 td
'14... 37 ret, 172 yds, 4.6 avg, 0 td

How can the same guy be so bad and so good?

Unknown to most fans of the sport of American football football is a team sport and not in fact a one man show..  That may have something to do with it.
In the immortal words of my old man, "Wait'll you get to be my age!"

Chicago sounds rough to the maker of verse, but the one comfort we have is Cincinnati sounds worse. ~Oliver Wendal Holmes Sr.
