Dalton's contract performance bonuses
#1
So if we make it to the Super Bowl without Andy taking a snap does he still get the performance bonuses in his contract?

He has to play 80% of the snaps in a win leading to advancement in the playoffs. It begins with the divisional round, had they gotten a bye to the divisional round he would of qualified for the first million dollar bonus if he played 80% of snaps in the season.

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/snapcounts

Dalton 75.6%
McCarron 24.3%

According to this report he needed to take 80% of the regular season snaps to qualify for any incentives. It sounds like he is not eligible for any of those incentives. That's par for the course when negotiating with SOP.
How it sounds is Andy could take every snap in the playoffs and still not qualify...but I am sure the devil is in the details of the contract.

It is a shame. While it does mean that we'll get an extra 3 million on our cap next year ( roll over), Andy is high character and has poured a lot of his money back into the town through charity.
