Daniel Jeremiah Mock Draft 2.0
#1
DJ's mocks are always interesting because he mixes in things he's hearing from the league.

Bengals select Brock Bowers at 18.

Quote:File this under fits that I selfishly want to see happen. It’s highly unlikely Bowers falls this far in Round 1, but let’s just pause and dream for a moment about seeing him joining forces with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.

Seeing more and more Brock Bowers sliding and it's possible because he is not going to measure or test at elite levels at the combine.
Another note: Jer'Zhan Newton didn't make it into DJs first round. Byron Murphy II is rhe only first round DT.

Edit: Adding this Chad Reuter 3-Round mock draft for Lance Zierlein's draft profiles...

I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

JPJ or Bowers would be epic picks. My hope it is Newton. I really think he is special.

In his first mock?  Because that link to the 2nd one has us taking Bowers.  I would be fine with either Bowers or JBJ, or even one of the WRs if Higgins is moved to another team.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

A center at 18???? He better be as good if not a better prospect than Ragnow.

He's a very good Run Blocker AND Pass Protector already. Basically a plug n play and he's good for the next 10-12 years at the position.
SI has him going to Seattle at 16 in a mock they released 2 days ago.

He showed up at the Sr Bowl 6'3" 334lbs and embarrassed everyone on 1v1, and anyone that lined up opposite of him while he played center or guard. He's ranked as the best IOL in the draft.

At 18 he doesn't need to be better than Ragnow, just much better than Billy Price.   Ninja
