Dayton Tornado
#1
Hope all our members and their families in Dayton and other affected areas are safe and doing alright this morning. Sounds like it got pretty bad. These things can be especially dangerous when they hit at night like that and people are asleep and completely unaware.

Yeah, it was crazy.  It was about 10 miles north of Centerville and hit North Dayton and Beavercreek pretty hard.  Celina, further north about an hour, also got hit.  I have never seen lightening like there was last night, either.

I live in Riverside... It was nuts. I have videos, but they do it no justice. Of course I had my 3 year old daughter too.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Thought this was going to be an article about a fast kid from Dayton.

WTS, I hope all is well. I remember living through the night of 3 APR 74.

Was that when Zenia got flattened? I remember that. Only about 10 miles from where I grew up.

Hope you are all OK.

I have family in and around Dayton.. All OK as far as we know.. I still haven't heard from everyone. My sister had to drive out of town just to call to let us know they're ok since power's out all over town.. Hara Arena is no more..
I've been in 2 tornadoes in my life.. Scary shit..   Lot of damage in Mercer county in Celina as well..
Pretty much the entire area is under a water boil advisory.. Lost power to the pumping stations and gas cut to huge areas of town... Fun times, huh?
I feel for folks there.. I found out the motel my sister is living in was hit.. Don't know where they're going to go.. maybe here if they have to leave..

Yeah, I believe there were about 24 tornadoes in the Tri-State region that night.

I remember Xenia real well.. Me and my then brother in law went there the next day to "help".. He was a small time crook looking to loot shit.. but I remember seeing a man hole ripped directly out of the middle of the street.. That alone scared the crap out of me even the day after when there was no wind..

WDTN is reporting only 3 minor injuries in Dayton, 1 dead in Celina.. Considering the damage that's pretty miraculous..  It appears one of the hardest hit areas was near Childrens hospital in Old N Dayton..

I forgot the correct spelling for Xenia.  Sad

Of course I haven't lived in Ohio since 84.

I have a good friend that lives in Beavercreek. Looks like the tornado went north of his house. Hope those affected can recover quickly.

Thank you so much for the thread. I actually live in Vandalia and we had about 4 different tornados hit the areas all around us. Thankfully for us we did not receive any damage but there are areas scarily close to us that look like war zones. Lots of complete devastation for so many families and businesses.

That is the same one that took out Scene 75 and caused a lot of damage along Dixie Drive and the Poe area. Definitely a scary night for sure. I live in Vandalia so things were getting real no doubt.

I believe the mayor of Beavercreek has declared state of emergency. That area got hit very hard. If I am not mistaken the Fairfield Mall over there took some pretty major damage.

There used to be a clip on pornhub of a guy getting a handy in an underground shelter during a tornado.

I know it wasn't much, but every little thing helps.
