ESPN - Moving Up/Down In the Draft - Winners/Losers

This is an excellent article of the results of moving up and down in the draft. You need to read the whole thing to really get a feel for how he judges trades and the results.

I'd add a quick summary but there is too much to do so. But I will say that he makes a strong case for NOT trading up, but for trading down. Basically because of the imprecision of judging draft picks, and the fact that when trading up a team is targeting a specific player at a specific position, whereas the team trading down is more likely to pick up value and has more shots (picks) to get a productive player. Quantity of picks > Quality more or less due to the imprecise nature of the draft.
