It's already crazy on weekends because its Vegas but now add a football team and crazy raider fans and the opposing teams fans I can't miss this. It's expensive but got to live life and enjoy it  tomorrow isnt promised. Although I'm single with no kids so it's a bit easier lol.

I plan on finding me a who dey wife tho  out there ?.

But ya it will Definitely be cool to meet up and get to know each other maybe Saturday or something.  I plan on staying from Friday-monday.
Exactly..........  only live once and tomorrow definitely isn't promised.........  I'm already on my 2nd life  Hilarious

I have money from the wreck and yeah I'll need some for later in my life but I live life as a set of moments and I live for the now.

I want to go out in a blaze of glory ThumbsUp

It would be an expensive trip though.  I can usually go to Vegas from Cincinnati, 4 nights during the week, including flight, for about 500 dollars. A flight, room and ticket for that weekend is at least 3 times that, maybe more.
Too damn hot.

I want to sit in a Sportsbook and gamble in the air conditioning.  Price isn't much of an issue but just seems stupid to sit in the heat and pay ten times what we would for a game in Cincinnati with a lot better seats.

Might be a cool stadium, but we'll be watching the game, so who cares?

Yeah I don't think I'd want to be in a possibly hostile stadium for three hours instead of a casino with free (if we're gambling or comped) drinks and air conditioning.
(06-01-2021, 11:29 PM)Bengalitis Wrote: hotels come in all prices in vegas.. although summer is cheap in vegas because of the heat. Nov 21 is close to turkey day. The biggest price gouge would probably be the game tickets and drinks/food itself, then the plane the farther you are perhaps.
Price isn't that big of an issue and we got flights out of Indianapolis for a good price.  Doesn't take too long to drive there from here.
(06-01-2021, 11:40 PM)bfine32 Wrote: I was speaking of ticket prices. The cheapest ticket you can find in Vegas is about $400. I can get club seat in Detroit for 1/2 that.

I'll go to Vegas to enjoy Vegas. I'mma watch the game in Detroit or maybe NYJ

I tried to look them up and I think the top rows were over a grand.

Honestly, while it might be cool to see a game in another stadium, why waste time in Vegas at a game?  Trips out there are two days, three max, so why waste it watching something that won't be that much better than watching it in a sportsbook?

For me I'm on a quest to visit every nfl stadium so I go to 1 or 2 away games a year.  This is just another one,  plus it's brand new, And of course it's Vegas.

It's wierd I have social anxiety but love going to sports games.

The raider fans are hostile but more crazy when division rival fans come,  will be fine as bengals fans long as you don't talk crazy. I don't drink and I'm staying away from anyone that does when around raider fans. That is not the time to be talking ISH!

I am going with a group of 6. We have our place to stay for a week, but no tickets and my wife and I have not booked our flight yet.

It should be fun, golf, gambling, shows and a Bengals win.

Still need to work on tickets but I'm guessing the crippled section will be pretty open.

Who else is going?!

Anyone want to meet up to at least say hi?

Haven't booked a hotel or anything yet.

That's awesome, Brad.  I am sure going to try.  Long story short, the PDUFA date for my company's new product is July 7th.  If it doesn't get approved, I will likely be looking for work again, but if it does....I am going to do my best to get to that game and make a mini-vacation out of it.

If I am able to go, we will definitely meet up for a pre-game meal or something.

Thrilled you are going!

I'm actually justifying the tickets for that very reason.  I don't have season tickets any more.  It is just too much for my pops.  He is amazing at 88 years old, but the walk to and from the seats and the cold weather games he could do without.  And since there aren't blackouts any longer...

There has been a lot of discussion on various outlets that these games will not have a "black hole" as the belief is very few Raider fans will make the trip from Oakland (except once a season or something) and most of the attendees will be big money individuals in town.  A lot from overseas.

If there are a lot of Bengals fans going, they should focus on ORANGE to make it as Bengal-dominant as possible.  If I go, I am going to bite the bullet and attend the game as well.  One of my buddies and I always get together for the draft (with a few others) but we always said that if the Bengals win a Super Bowl, we will go to Vegas the following year for our draft party.  Well, guess where the draft is next year?

I would rather go there for a game than the draft, though....big time.

I went there to see the Bengals lock up the AFC North in 2005.  Great fans, and an amazing stadium.

THAT is the way to do it.  Some amazing roof top clubs and bars.  I'm not a loud music, rave-type, but there is a bar (I think it is at Mandalay Bay) that is on something like the 20th floor and it is open to the outside.  They have small space heaters, lots of cool outdoor furniture, and great cocktails.  Really cool place.

It is not going to be hot after the sun goes down in November.  It shouldn't even be hot during the day at that time of the year.

That's awesome, i'm not gonna lie, everytime i go to football games, i get nosebleeds tickets and i get soooo easily distracted since being at the top u literally get to see EVERYTHING. I did have a hard time following the ball unless it was a pass. Television has me spoiled, not to be mention the lack of replay Big Grin.  If i go to this game I will definitely have to listen to live radio announcers while watching it to help me out up on the nosebleeds. Big Grin

Mandalay Bay really benefitted when it comes to location near the stadium.  It's a high priced hotel but you can stay at Luxor, Excalibur, MGM, New York New York, or Tropicana and just monorail down there.

There is a "sister" hotel at Mandalay Bay called THE hotel at Mandalay Bay.  Dumbest name ever....but OSU fans probably like it.  Regardless, it is a really cool hotel on the inside and while in previous years, they suffered for being at the farthest end of the strip, now it is closest to the stadium.  It is pretty big, too.  We held a meeting there for a pretty big company.

I was actually being genuinely serious.  I wasn't sure if there was something specific about this game in particular that I missed.  If it's just a good reason to visit Vegas, then I hope you all have a great time.  Vegas is a fun place to visit, even for someone like me who doesn't gamble.

A week in Vegas?!  That's INSANE!  I've been out there for three days and thought I was going to die!

I thought the same thing with "we'll catch some shows, eat places, go on the strip, etc.," but then you're at a show or wherever, and you're thinking "let's go back to the casino!"

We're getting there Friday night and leaving early Monday, so not exactly three days, and I'm just going to try to sleep a lot in the days leading up to it and then sleep as little as possible out there and drinks lots of Advocare Spark.

Good luck with your product and I hope that it gets approved and is a success!

If you do make it out, we'll definitely have to try to get a group meet-up for drinks, either pre-game or just whenever!

The only problem is, and I apologize for this, if we don't go to the game, which I don't think we will at this point, I most likely won't be able to go anywhere outside of our casino to meet up just because I'm not about to tell my friends, who were nice enough to take me out there with them, that we need to go somewhere to meet other people.

They would, but I'd feel like a HUGE dick.

I hope that we can all meet up for drinks or a meal either before the game or whenever!

That had to be pretty intense!  After almost two decades of failure, though, I was glad that we were in Cincinnati for it!

With a nose as big as mine, I can't do cocaine or I'd die, but we're going to try to make it so epic that they film a movie based off of that weekend called The Crippled Hangover!
