I'm going for the last summer run, this weekend, but this year has been awesome...

Around a 6 pound Mahi. Made for wonderful Sashimi!:

First one was 121.7 pounds, second one was 161.1.

And my fianceé's Mahi, that was cut up and we forgot on the boat Sad

Unfortunately, I've never had the money to do the saltwater thing. So many freshwater spots are around me, so that's easy to get to. I know the Chesapeake has some good fishing, including what is known as one of the best redfish/red drum fisheries, I've just never been able to get over and fish it.

It was wild! Our first Mahi hookup of the day (of about 9) and *5* came onto the spread of 7 lines. 1 for the captain, 1 for the mate, 1 for my fiancée and 2 for me.

The big Mahi pulled SO damn hard and the Sails were just another thing altogether... Such an experience, as I've wanted to catch a billfish since I was 3 years old.

That tattoo, btw was FINALLY finished this year lol; it is now complete, booekended and done :).

Yeah, the cost has always stopped me in the past, but I saved up for a good year or so, for both the trip and the charter, so I was happy that it went down.

And yeah, the amount of lakes we have here in Ontario is just beyond ridiculous; each one (basically), teeming with fish of a whole variety of species; we're lucky in North America.

Not only Reds, but also Stripers and Blues; Bluefish is delicious and it may make me want to head out east for a week, either at Montauk or something!

The real question is are you going to fly to Costa Rica during games the Bengals are losing to go fishing to insure they can pull off the victory?
The fish never really look too happy in these pictures. I wonder why.  Could it have anything to do with having a big sharp hook jabbed in their mouths and being dragged out of their natural environment ? Nahhh..

Having spent two weeks fishing on Kennabi Lake when I was younger, I get what you're saying. I prefer the cold water fish over the southern trophies any day. It's why I prefer bronzebacks over bucketmouths (though I know smallies aren't indigenous up there) and think nothing is better than fresh walleye. I also love fishing for brook trout.

I really need to take the afternoon off, now. LOL

I love striper fishing, though I've only done it in freshwater with some of the landlocked stripers we have around the state. I do finish off my day of fishing slugging back a couple of these:

A local brewery makes this delicious beer, and part of the proceeds go to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, so I figure I spend my day fishing in the watershed for the bay, I can do my part to help it out. ThumbsUp

My ex wife went on a fishing trip with 5 guys.

All she got was a red snapper.
