Fox News viewers are inclusive.

Fox News Channel triumphs as most-watched network for Biden's State of the Union address
A total of 5.8 million viewers tuned in to Fox News Channel for Biden's speech, more than any other network

Many want to paint Fox news viewers as members of a cult and brain washed.

Yet, those viewers show they are all inclusive watching Biden's state of the union address. Many refuse to watch Trump speak, many fake news networks refuse to cover Trump's speeches.

I would think most would agree it is sad when voters refuse to hear the other side, even sadder when fake news media refuses to give them the opportunity.

Is it really your impression that Trump critics do not hear Trump, even refuse to hear him at that? For imho, the opposite is true.

Also, of course, all the news networks show the state of the union from any president. That is such a weird thing to brag about. As is bragging how great a certain news network is in general.

No one has ever said that conservatives don't watch Biden just like it is incorrect to say liberals don't watch Trump. The difference is that studies have shown that conservatives tend to be very narrow in their news sources, rarely venturing outside affirmational news media and keeping sources to a minimum. Whereas, liberals tend to cast their net wide when gathering news. In fact, I would be willing to bet that more liberals watch Fox than conservatives watch MSNBC. Liberals use multi-sources of information including television, radio, newspapers, newsletters, podcasts, etc. and across the political spectrum.

The Fox topic aside, I actually do think this happens.  The amount of outrage over rather innocuous things Trump says or does is strange, given that he gives people plenty of legitimate things to be outraged over.  It happens here all the time. Trump is low hanging fruit, yet people consistently go after him for stupid things, or things he didn't say.  A recent example would be the black people voting for him because of his sneakers, which was attributed to Trump but was never stated by him.

A great straw man argument. Do you any actual facts to back up that Democrat talking point?

Fox shows clips all the time of the view, CNN, MSBNC, meet the press and articles from NYT and WAPO.

Maybe because their leader Joe Biden in a state of union speech lies and takes comments by Trump out context. Biden quoted 1 sentence Trump said about Putin, but when you read everything, he said, it changes the meaning.

Yet, due to Trump hate, his followers loved it, those Democrats in the room gave him a standing ovation for a blatant lie.

wow...you see carefully edited and taken out of context 30-second clips of other news sources used to drive home some sort of conservative over exaggerated outrage. That does not count towards getting information from a variety of sources

5.8M is a pretty small number, when speaking of the population of the US. What this really confirms is that literally nobody, save a few fanatics from each side, was watching the SOTU. Mellow

32.2 million watched on traditional networks and cable stations.  Totals from streaming channels or computer viewership weren't counted.

74% of viewers were over age 55

I'm not sure what the total numbers are, but the 5.8 is only on one network. According to the New York Post, a total of 32 million people watched, but that's only on TVs . . . they don't factor in the many, many internet streams of the speech and the multiple ''commentary'' streams.
https://nypost.com/2024/03/08/us-news/more-than-32-million-watched-bidens-state-of-the-union-address/

Quote:The majority of viewers – 74% – were aged 55 and older.

Only 5% of viewers in the coveted 18-34 age demographic watched the 81-year-old president’s speech.

More than half of people – 56% – watched coverage of Biden’s State of the Union on broadcast networks, such as CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX.

Forty-four percent tuned in on cable networks.

Fox News edged out ABC for the largest share of viewers, 5.84 million to 5.24 million, respectively.

NBC finished third, with 4.47 million viewers, followed by MSNBC’s 4.43 million, CBS’s 4.09 million, CNN’s 2.63 million and the Fox broadcast network’s 1.77 million.

From almost three years ago

ABC has a bloated 1.3 million views because they had an almost 5 hour stream and I'm sure that they had many people click on it early and clicked out when they saw that the speech wasn't on. Same with NBC, CBS.
277 K - Associated Press
367 K - PBS Newshour
500 K - CNN
624 K - CNBC
309 K - NBC News - 4 hours long live stream - 115 K views of full hour long speech posted afterwards
301 K - CBS News - 3 hours long
329 K - Washington Post - 4 hours long
892 K - C-SPAN - almost 4 hours long
434 K - LiveNow from FOX - almost 10 hours long
710 K - MSNBC
600 K - Fox News
81 K - 11Alive - NBC local affiliate in Atlanta
69 K - Fox5 Atlanta - not sure why both of the local Atlanta feeds popped up, but they did.
89 K - Fox11 Los Angeles
21 K - WFAA North Texas - only 21 K watched their live stream . . . 355 K have watched their uploaded speech

315 K - Brian Tyler Cohen - live commentary stream - 3 hours
324 K - Meidas Touch - live commentary stream - 4 hours

Oh yes I totally agree with that and can only emphazise it. It is absurd how people actually need to make stuff up about this guy; counter-productive and completely unnecessary, given the amount of outragoeus things Trump does indeed say or do which would suffice plenty.

What I wouldn't say is that Trump gets tuned out, exactly. Which was what I was referring to. That and of course that there was an underlying FOX topic.

Still, significantly less that 10% of the US population.

Does that number include the 15 million illegal immigrants in the US since Biden took office?  Sarcasm
