Oh my...the Top 4 are all equally as bad in hindsight. It's hard to pick.

But, since I must.

A - 1
B - 4
C - 3
D - 2
E - 5

Pretty bad list of errors when Dave Shula being hired as coach is the 4th worst blunder.

-Remember Boomer had a 57 QB Rating in '92, his third straight year of decline.
-Marvin wasn't a terrible choice to rebuild the team, but he has long since reached his ceiling at 1-and-done playoffs. The bigger blunder is having not replaced him in the last handful of years, and won a SB or two.

Deceitful, two-faced she-woman. Never trust a female, Delmar, remember that one simple precept and your time with me will not have been ill spent.

A-1 and I believe, in hindsight, this blunder could have paved a whole different road for this franchise, and could have prevented most of the other blunders, just by keeping Walsh in the Bengals franchise as the HC.

It could also have led to an eventual move for Walsh to go from HC to General Manager, which could have changed everything about where this team is today.

I have to go exactly with the chronological order here:
A1
B2
C3
D4
E5

With Bill Walsh, I cannot see the Bengals not winning at least one super bowl, not to mention the fact that the Bengals wouldn't have had to go against him in the SB. Wyche, being replaced with Shula - another obvious one. Maybe they don't contend all the time, but they wouldn't have been a laughingstock. Boomer replaced by Klingler -- third b/c it probably only happens because of Wyche being replaced with Shula. I'm not sure if D would have made much of a difference (although I still can't believe that it happened), since we know that the GM making the picks may have blown all those extra picks anyway owing to his lack of GM-ability. E - No idea if things would have gotten better or worse. For all I know, Coughlin may have quit in utter frustration after 1 and a half years of working under Mike Brown around 2003.

Akili was a 1 year wonder, got to stay away from those types especially at QB, those picks were really needed for this team. We could've been light years ahead in roster talent from those terrible teams we kept fielding.

I don't blame Klinger for what happened to him on the field. His contract holdout really slowed his first year, which seems typical for Bengals 1st Round picks from that era. His OL was made up of crappy players. Seriously getting sacked 10 times in your debut game??? Dude never had a fair chance here.
