Greeks getting cozy with the Russians
#1
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/greece-debt-crisis-live-angela-merkel-and-francois-hollande-issue-athens-with-24hour-ultimatum-to-avoid-crashing-out-of-the-euro-10370344.html

Seems Greek PM is sending signals they will go with the russians if europe doesn't give them a sweetheart deal. This could affect upcoming issues with Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

Quote: The Greek government upped the stakes further by revealing that the Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, had telephoned the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to discuss the consequences of the referendum in which Greeks voted by 61 per cent to 39 per cent to reject the EU’s previous austerity demands.

During the call, the Kremlin said, Mr Putin “expressed support for the Greek people in overcoming the difficulties facing their country” and that they discussed “several questions about the further development of Russian-Greek co-operation”.

What happens when it comes to Italy and Spain? Then Portugal.

And it's not the economy thats at play it's their vote in the UN and support to drop sanctions.

Aren't you for non-interventionism? What does their vote in the UN matter if you are for non-interventionist policies? We should be distancing ourselves from all of that anyway.

And what exactly will Putin do for the Greek to make them fall madly in love with him?

Pay their debts?

This.

I'd love for Putin to take on their debt.

Just because I bring up what's happening in europe does not mean I want to intervene. I just like to read the tea leaves and see where things are heading.

I don't want anything to do with the EU.... It should be disbanded. And I would dance all night if we left the UN as well . That's a joke.

Some here think that russia would take their debt.... Their debt is to europe and germany mainly. They would default and russia would send in energy to keep lights on.... Just like they do ukraine. That's why when we gave ukraine money it went to russia to pay the energy bill they sent to ukraine on credit. Greece would probably get something similar and russia would have them lock step with them and China.

I have said continually that 2017 elections could be the make or break on the EU for France in particular.... Plus the UK will have a referendum as well then whether to stay. That's why what happens to greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal matter now.

I don't wanna intervene because europe needs to let their multinational socialism experiment die.

Which is why I don't wanna intervene in europes business. Let them fail on their own. When the countries are single again we can set up trade and make money off them.

I think it's funny how against the E.U. you are. It is modeled after what the U.S. is supposed to be like, after all.

Even if they default on the debt and Russia doesn't take it on, they will still drag Russia down. Things won't improve in Greece without someone pumping money into them. Period.

Russia does not have the unlimited resources to start taking care of other countries.  In fact their economy is not doing very well at all with oil prices low.

While I'm sure you understand I was ribbing you.  You do realize that what you're asking for isn't going to happen right?

This is true, but I'm sure Russia is preparing to expand upon this agreement.

Russians are already to take Greeks out and wine and dine them and be BFFs 4evah, but suddenly Russia is finding all their credit cards maxed out. lulz

With Empty Pockets, Putin Misses a Chance to Bring Greece into His Fold

Wow. Invading Crimea was such a great idea. (/sarcasm) The real tragedy is, the Russian people have no idea how much better off they'd be without Putin. Putin is an incompetent moron trying to compensate for the fact that he is 5 foot 5 inches tall. The world knows it now too, I wonder when the Russian people will figure it out.

The EU is a joke.... When it falls apart it will be a good thing.... They need to be seperate Countries, seperate economies... Like they have always been....

They are about a heartbeat from the EU becoming a USSR type deal.

Germany was pushing for an EU army and to dismantle each countries army.

And they can say what they want but the EU was created to keep the peace in europe.

Phew, that's a relief.

But just for the record, no one really asked you to.
Plus, after all, Obama can't even protect our christianity.
And in the end, you're only after our money... sorry that our multinational socialism experiment seemingly is standing in the way of that right now. You're obviously a real good friend, you will forgive.
