Herschel Walker
#1
For all the talk about how bad some Democrat candidates have been (Hillary Clinton, for example) he is absolutely awful.

And still has a chance to win in Georgia because he has a famous name and lots of money behind him.

Quote:There are many reasons why Herschel Walker, who is running against Georgia’s Raphael Warnock for Senate, should not be elected to higher office. His suggestion that the jury is still out on evolution, for one. His admitted history of domestic violence, for another. His answer to the question “Do you support any new gun laws in the wake of this Texas shooting,” which was “What I like to do is see it and everything and stuff,” for yet another. And truly, those three on their own are really enough. But on Thursday, an additional reason arose not to vote for the GOP nominee, and it’s that he’s “a pathological liar”—according to his own campaign!

Yes, in the midst of an incredible article from the Daily Beast concerning Walker’s “secret children,” whose existence he denied even to the people who work for him, comes the assertion from the candidate’s own team that he’s constitutionally incapable of telling the truth. While Walker reportedly lies about all kind of things, it was seemingly the lies about his offspring that broke the proverbial camel’s back for his staff. According to the Daily Beast’s Roger Sollenberger, Walker—who has frequently criticized “fatherless home”—was approached by his advisers over the winter about rumors he had a kid no one knew about, which the candidate denied. The staffers, per Sollenberger, knew their boss was was going to lie, and came with documents proving paternity; eventually, he admitted the child was his, but insisted no other secret kids existed. Can you guess where this is going? You probably can.

Quote:When the Daily Beast learned about the existence of that 10-year-old child in June and went to the campaign for comment, campaign manager Scott Paradise prepared a statement. But first, he went to Walker with a question: Be honest—are there any other kids? No, Walker said. Paradise then put out a statement insisting that Walker—who at that point had only publicly acknowledged one child, his adult son, Christian—was “proud of his children.”

“To suggest that Herschel is ‘hiding’ the child because he hasn’t used him in his political campaign is offensive and absurd,” Paradise said in a statement. The very next day, The Daily Beast reached out again, asking about yet another undisclosed child, a 13-year-old. The campaign approached Walker and asked again. This time, he acknowledged the teen was his. The campaign verified that the 13-year-old was Walker’s son, and that he had yet another child—a daughter from his college days about 40 years ago.

Are there any more secret kids waiting in the wings? Honestly, who knows! It certainly sounds like Walker’s staff wouldn’t be surprised if there were 10, 12, or 20 more. The candidate lies “like he’s breathing,” one adviser told the Daily Beast, saying aides long ago stopped believing anything he says. “He’s lied so much that we don’t know what’s true,” the person added, noting that advisers have “zero” trust in the guy. Three people all independently dubbed Walker a “pathological liar.”

And by the way, it’s not just kids he lies about. Walker has also, to date, falsely claimed to be an FBI agent; said he graduated valedictorian from the University of Georgia, when in fact he didn’t graduate at all; falsely claimed to have started a breaded-chicken empire; and, perhaps most ridiculously, insisted that Donald Trump has never said the 2020 election was stolen.

Meanwhile lying about everything all the time isn’t the only gripe Walker’s staffers have. According to the Daily Beast, they have “ridiculed his intelligence,” “fear his mood swings and instability,” “worry he could embarrass himself at any moment,” and believe that “the stress and pressures of campaigning…might make him ‘just not mentally stable.’” All of which seem like pretty good reasons to become former campaign staffers—and yet it appears all of these people are still currently working for the guy and actively trying to help him unseat a Democrat for U.S. Senate. Curious!

The Walker campaign declined the Daily Beast’s request for comment.

He's not even a good bs'er.  He's just dumb and has a famous name. He's a dumber Trump, which might be enough to get elected...lol

I guess "making fun" of the guy who overcame a stutter makes you feel better about it.  And I'm not surprised at all.

Has nothing to do with his speechmaking abilities.  He probably has some brain damage from his years of football.  So I wasn't  "making fun of him" I was saying he was an awful candidate who doesn't understand anything about the issues (or anything really) and has lied repeatedly about easily provable facts.

One would think there HAD to be someone...anyone who could have ran instead of Walker.

Well, Biden has been saying dumb crap since he ran for president in 1988, so unless he had dementia when he was in his 40s...

Huh.  A post about a bad republican candidate who has shown to be a liar and unable to speak on any issue became "Biden is worse".

Weird that the usual suspects aren't in here saying you guys can't have any discussion without attacking the other side.

Really weird.

But I guess I can also take it that you think Walker is a good candidate.  That says a lot.

I assume Walker is going to refuse to have a debate with Warnock, yes?

It's my understanding that Walker agreed to a couple debates.

How you totally gloss over Biden being a liar for 40+ years, and can't speak on any issue without showing his dementia, yet you are totally against Walker for his deficiencies. Hypocrite much?

You must have missed the thread where democrats want Biden to get the hell out of the way.

Seems like one party is trying to expunge the mentally deficient while one is actively trying to get more of them elected.

"Hypocrisy" appears to be another means of establishing false equivalences while ignoring vastly different levels of knowledge and competence.

I don't think Biden has been a "liar for 40 years," despite his gaffes. Walker's continuing lies about his children, while speaking against absent fathers, or his insistence Trump never claimed the election was stolen, or that he has a machine that cleanses you of COVID (but "they" don't want you to know) shows that he could never have any kind of long game as a politician.

The Hershel statements now on record are far more inchoate than anything Biden ever said, or even Trump.

Biden still knows how the government works. He understands his PDBs every morning, and reads and understands
legal decisions, and has a basic grasp of modern science. Walker thinks the jury is "still out" on evolution, and China gets our "good air" while we have to clean their bad. Could he even find it on a map? Could he even read a 30-page bill on climate change?

The only possible reason the RNC would want this guy in office is because they think they can guide his voting, as they thought they could Trump's, not that he actually understands  state, national and international political issues he would be voting on. And this is the party always complaining that "Washington" is broken. Candidates like him help concentrate party power outside and over elected representatives.
