Ben Carson and West Point
#21
Literally laughed out loud at Bfine posting that silly old video clip. The myths really never die with these people. Up next: Vincent Foster, Whitewater and Troopergate.

I guess folks are confusing my post with me thinking he is Muslim. I simply said it was an attack on his beliefs. Luckily others have come on board and supported my point.

There is no way I think Obama is Islamic.

But he wasn't.

Did he ever actually say he applied? I'm pretty sure in his book he even states he only applied to Yale.

Plus the link I posted wasn't for people who had already applied and been accepted  Wink

I don't know by who, but Vince was murdered.
Period.

When you say "his Muslims beliefs" that is what most people are going to think.

Are you now claiming Obama was attacked for being a Christian?

So you are claiming that ANYONE can say they were offered a full scholarship to West Point, and that would not be considered dishonest in any way?

Nope, merely illustrating how when other's religious beliefs were called into question it was considered attacks; yet when Carson's is, it is considered vetting (sorta like I was talking about).

Since folks know so much about the clip I posted: what was the subject of the clip?

Often times I will throw in a "remember when" and not actually believe it happened. For instance: "Remember when Hillary got off the plane in Bosnia and had to dodge sniper fire?"

Actually I don't know much about the clip.  I see a few seconds of a answer to a question I didn't hear and then its cut off after a fumbling of words about Muslims.

Do you have the whole interview?

The segment of the interview clipped was about how personal attacks should be off limits in a Presidential campaign.

If you read the snopes link that Pat was kind enough to provide, it goes into more detail.

Obama's main point of contention was not that the Republicans were discussing his religious beliefs.  The problem was that they were LYING about his religious beliefs.

Obama himself had brought up his Chjristian beliefs.  He would not have had a problem with republicans saying he was a Christian.  Instead he was upset with the lies.

Nope, he was talking about personal attacks. Did you read the part about Sarah Palin's daughter and her being "off limits"?

Would Obama have considered being called a Christian a personal attack?

Back then, probably not.
