However, I have read well into the thread and so far no body has mentioned that the image may have been inspired by the magazine cover below. Not trying to hijack the thread, just wanted to let people know. And, by the way, I love the Der Spiegel cover and their recent editorial condemning Trump and calling for his removal.

Der Spiegel makes me so happy sometimes. I am a regular reader, but I have a feeling that there aren't many on here familiar enough with them to even know this happened.

This kind of logic is adorable.

Yeah, seems pretty strange to me.

Calling for his removal for what reason?  Just because? Good reason.

It's not asking for those people to come here.

It's explaining that while some people who immigrate here (both legally and illegally) may be bad people the vast majority are not.  In fact you have a better chance of someone who was born and raised here doing a violent act than an immigrant.

It's not to invite in the worst of the worst...it's to explain that using the fear what "might happen" to make people afraid of all foreigners.

I know you are attempting to be facetious, here, but you should say Democrats instead of liberals because civil rights legislation is all liberal legislation.

"a" problem.

Unrelated to the poor living conditions in many parts of the US and in this case the south.

That's why I shared it. And, in the context of the magazine cover it does give the photo in the OP a different vibe. Not sure it was a choice most artists or commentators would have made, and KG is already bowing to the backlash rather than standing her ground (typical liberal ***** - a real man with a real gun and an R behind his name would stand behind his Presidential lynching art all day long, yeah buddy he would! But that red headed ***** - she cut and run!).

Hilarious

That was a good episode. It was sad knowing Data couldn't feel anything when his daughter/creation died.

Star Trek: The Next Generation is the best out of all the series, yes even the Original and Picard is better than Kirk by a mile seeing as how Picard went through the entire series with a red shirt on while Kirk wore the Gold.

I post this because this thread is no longer about what "what's her name" did. It has devolved into the normal BS.

I'm not just talking about sour grapes over the Electoral College situation, but how many people feel like their elected officials represent them? Left or right, there are a lot of people that feel like they are being left out of the conversation and that number continues to grow.

Now, here is something that may surprise people on here, given that I am essentially a communist to some on the boards, the violent left doesn't surprise me for these very reasons. I have talked on here before about the neo-liberal movement and how that has moved the Democrats to the right. That has put folks on the left in the position of having no viable representation. It's why they latched onto Bernie so much. Social democratic policies are gone in our government when they used to be the standard for the Democrats thanks to FDR. Now, I;m not a democratic socialist like Bernie claims to be (there are differences), but even I feel like there is a lack of politicians representing my views which were, at one time, what the Democratic party was all about. So when you go even further out on the left it isn't surprising that anyone feels disenfranchised.

I can't explain much at all about the far-right, I don't know what is going on there when they get violent.

Oh boo hoo.  They feel like they don't have any representation.  A lot of us feel that way with candidates.  Don't invest yourself so much in a candidate.  When I see people crying with joy at a convention or crying in sorrow when their candidate loses I'm thinking what is wrong with you?  If our country all of a sudden takes a sharp left, and I start throwing rocks, do you think anyone is going to be saying, "Awww he just feels disenfranchised."

Like most people my age I remember watching the Original Star Trek in re-runs.  I liked it but wasn't a huge fan.

In college my roommate and his friends were big fans so they watched the Next Generation all the time.  I did enjoy that series more than the original.  After graduation I don't think I ever watched any of the series or movies.

Well yes, you do have a higher chance because there's more locals than there are foreigners.

These liberal nut jobs today a far cry from those who participated in just causes such the Freedom Rides, womens suffrage.

But go ahead the liberal of 2017, continue to ride the coattails of your predecessors crowing atop your liberal perch of superiority.

Are right wing nut jobs of 2017 a far cry from the right wing nut jobs of the 60s who beat freedom riders and opposed women's rights?

Do they stull croak from deep within their conservative swamps of inferiority?

And their record is pretty good. They got rid of slavery, then supported the black community's efforts to end segregation and win voters' rights.  Now African Americans have more opportunity than previous generations, even the presidency is within reach now. Conservatives have not given up, but until Trump was elected, there was steady progress in legal and voting rights.

Haven't you been paying attention?  Our liberals are fascists, and our conservatives are off the scale.
