We have an elite lineman?

I sure wish he'd play a game or two...

Hopkins has graded top 5 all season.

I don't pay for PFF so I don't get all that juicy premium content, but his general page has him graded at 61.6.

That's good. Not elite.

If that's a top 5 center then the NFL is bereft of good centers haha.

He must be declining as of late as he's now Yellow.

He was definitely really good early in the year.

It will be interesting to see how much interest Hopkins draws as a free agent. I have not been impressed with anything about our O-line, but I have not actually re-watched any games to analyze individual players.

PFF does not mean a lot. For example they claimed that Dalton was better last year than he was in 2015.

Based on what?
Hopkins is rated 15th best C in the league according to PFF.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins

Sadly, and not unexpectedly, he's been slipping every week. He's now rated as the 17th best Center with a grade of 61.6.

Just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean it "doesn't mean a lot".

Hopefully week 9 was an aberration instead of things to come.
As to the OP we will probably overspend for him.

Trey Hopkins is “Cincinnati good.” He’s not “NFL good.”

More player regression.

Sooner or later, and probably way later, the Bengals are going to figure out that this coaching staff isn't going to get them back to a winning season, let alone the playoffs or a Super Bowl.

I understand it very well.  It uses subjective ratings in a flawed formula.

The fact that they claim Dalton was better last year than in 2015 is a perfect example of how little it means.

I understand that Hopkins is better than lets say Price. But I have been saying all year that Hopkins does not get any push at the LOS.

With that said, the guards for the Bengals are horrific and that will affect how the center plays as well. Lets just hope that Williams can play either OT or guard. Bengals will need to draft 3 OL players this next draft. They need at least one stud at guard. I could see them drafting another center was well.

No you don't. You don't know the formula they use to come to the final grades. You're just assuming they're no good based on nothing but your opinion. Where is your reasearch to show that what they do is flawed?

One example (Dalton) of your personal opinion is not proof of anything.

Well, I don't know if it's all that flawed. The OL grades are bad and so is the OL play. The LB grades are bad and the LB play is also certainly bad. There does seem to be a correlation between what we see and the grades, despite the Dalton's grade discrepancy.
