Hurricane Effecting Miami
#1
They are hitting the airport at 8 am today. They most likely won't have a single practice all week unless they get a walk through in tomorrow before the game.

With the game they played on Sunday (heat wave, long game, emotional one), the short week, and the hurricane - Miami is going to be all out of sorts come Thursday.

Or their troops galvanize and take that us against the world mentality and come in like gangbusters.lol. We've seen both approaches before.

I've been watching the Weather Channel the last couple of days because I have relatives in Clearwater. Land fall will happen today south of them and it looks bad..winds up to 155.

This kind of stuff can have a positive or a negative effect on a game, depending on how the players respond to it. I don't put much stock in this stuff outside of typical home team advantage vs having to travel on a short week.

Every time I read about teams facing issues when playing us they always seem to look like all-stars once the game starts. Like they don't miss a beat. I think the Bengals will have their hands full of Miami and just hope they can build on the Jets game. Miami will come in here with guns blazing.

It's going to be about 30 miles north of me. We'll get winds around 105 here, but nothing our house can't handle. I'm afraid that the entire south side of town is going to be underwater. I'm really worried that my daughter is going to lose her apartment. She's less than a mile from the gulf and that part of town is supposed to get 9' of storm surge.

My wife is from Florida..just a little ocean breeze to her, but she didn't live on the west of Florida..
Yeah..The Tampa Bay area is about to learn a hard lesson about civil engineering.. Anyone realistically expect the powers to be to actually learn a damned thing?

Don't really see how it affected their preparation other than flying out a few hours early since the hurricane had not arrived yet.

But I do expect it to motivate them emotionally to play for the people of Florida

They would have practiced yesterday and today. They did neither since they couldnt be outdoors yesterday and the flight got moved up today.

Expect them to come out with a lot of energy early. If they are in a close game in the second half they will get gassed quick

Golly gee.. The storm formerly known as Hurricane Ian is headed toward my house.. Being I live over 100 miles away from the coast in South Carolina should I or shouldn't I plan for a big fat panic session?
