I'm betting parlays of better pay-offs
#1
I have a 3 team parlay including the point spreads for 30 bucks to try to win over 200 bucks. Week One, I took Chiefs, Chargers, Bills.

I also have a 10 team parlay for 5 bucks that would pay over 3,000 bucks. OK, picking 10 teams to cover or beat the point spread is a long shot, but I only bet 5 bucks to try to win 3,000.

So In all I bet 35 bucks. If my 3 teams hit, I get 200 bucks. If that hits and my 10 teams, I get 3,200 bucks. I decided I am not going to have bets all over the place going up to 100 or 200 bucks. 35 bucks is the limit I set for myself. If I don't hit a 3 team parlay in September to at least be breaking even, I won't bet rest of season.

Ohio now has betting and Dayton Hollywood Casino close to me. I can get the parlay odds of games and payouts on Barstool Site with even being a site member. I write down my teams and bet in person at Barstool part of this local casino. If I don't hit a 3 team parlay in first 4 weeks, I will stop down 140 bucks. That is another limit I set. Once I'm down 140 bucks, I will quit if I can't hit one single 3 team parlay in first 4 weeks.

So my limit is 35 and my limit after 4 weeks is 140. If I'm down 140, I stop...It's good to set limits. Only bet what you can afford to lose, I can afford to lose 140. I put in a drop down ceiling furnace filter last December, so I will save 140 on not needing a furnace man out this October, I can now change filters easy, no longer behind wires and hard to get at. Anyway, I can afford to lose 140 the first 4 weeks if I have no winners, but then I stop. Now if a 3 team parlay hits first 4 weeks, that's 200 bucks winnings and I can go into October on this.

Also, if I hit some 3 team parlays and I'm ahead 400 or 600 at some point, old timers use to say STOP while I am ahead, don't bet any more this season.

It's good to set a limit on how much you can afford to lose. It's also good to set a point that if you win and are ahead on money, the amount ahead you just stop for the season. You may win a couple weeks, but you will not win every week or every race. It's good to set limits and save money for other things. Betting is new to Ohio, so the key is to set limits on yourself.

Why the parlays, why not one game at a time ? Because one game at a time has a lousy pay out. Less than 2 to 1 odds. However 3 teams pays 7 to 1 odds. And I could lose just as much betting games at less than 2 to 1 odds, Less than 2 to 1 is a suckers bet. Betting 50 to win 40 is a suckers bet. That's for old ladies who buy show 3rd place tickets on horses and don't win as much as they bet.

As with all gambling. Never bet the house or food money. If you have some money to lose, OK, because odd are you are going to lose. Set a limit on how much you can lose. Also if you win and are ahead for the season, stop and don't give your winnings back.

haha, this is how they get you.

Though...the saying usually goes "the first one is free" so you'll probably win and then get hooked....and subsequently never win again.

I've never met a sports gambler that says they love gambling. Good luck...I hope you win!

Parlays are fun to play as long as you only bet a couple of dollars. I've won a few and lost many. I am not ahead by any means.
