Collecting checks, and the comfort of the Merv Zone.  Why bother?  You know you're going to play, and you know you won't be cut.  It's just a theory, but after 16 years, and players playing out contracts, damn the consequences....why would losing bother you?

The only real motivator they should have is "You're gonna be paid a gazillion bucks if you play great." If not then, well...good luck.. I'm not sold on the idea of having some bastard screaming at grown men to motivate them. A gazillion bucks should suffice just about right.
