I am sure none of you remember this, but ten years ago I declared that I would not attend a game at PBS that year because of the way the Bengals had handled the offseason. That year they had pretty much admitted that they needed help at OG when they signed OG Deuce Lutui in free agency. But when the deal fell through because of a failed physical the Bengals never signed another O-lineman. We ended up playing a rookie who struggled because he was not ready to start in the NFL.
That rookie was Clint Boling who developed into a very good guard.
So you could say everything worked out for the best, but our offense could have been much better than it was (20th yds, 18th pts) if we had signed a vet to a one-year deal while Boling was learning the ropes.
