Going through news of the day cake across something that was touched on in another topic. March 4th is their election. They are about to go from a pro EU leader to very anti EU and anti migrant. The poll numbers show Five star Movement (M5S) in the lead individually but the right wing coalition of Forza Italia (FI) and Lega Nord (LN) would win. The leader of LN has already said he will deport 500,000 if he becomes PM and that Brexit should be an example to follow.

Looks like whichever will happen the EU will have some serious issues with Italy going forward and a possible referendum.

Honestly would love to see a LN and M5S coalition.

Italy, EMG poll:

M5S-EFDD: 28%
PD-S&D: 24%
FI-EPP: 16% (+1)
LN-ENF: 14%
LeU-LEFT: 6%
FdI-*: 5% (-1)
Ncl-*: 3%
I-*: 2%
+E-*: 1%
CP-*: 1%

Field work: 19/01/18–21/01/18
Sample size: 1,803
