Division winners should get an automatic bid, but the playoff seeding should go be determined by the records of the 6 qualifying teams.

Then there is no need for division play. Home games are for division winners.

What's worse is that your boys could be out of the playoffs while the colts or Texans make it lol

The home game matters. Besides if a division gets fat on a weak division. Like the AFCE is going .

Home games should be for the teams with the best record.  I can't think of a logical reason a team that is 7-9 should be rewarded with a 4th seed while a team with 9+ wins should be stuck with 5 or 6.  Doesn't make sense.  Especially when you consider if you win 10 games and don't win your division you probably had a much harder road than a team with 7 wins that is 1st in their own crappy division.

If every team played every division then you would have a point.    But when each division is paired with two others.   And they are all different then there is always going to be a division or two up and down.

If they changed who gets a home game and who doesn't then they need to change the scheduling rotation .

Ok, that's a good point.  Still, reseeding once you are in based upon record makes the most sense.  I realize home playoff games are huge money-makers, so that's why this won't change, though.

If they went your way . They should stop interconference games and then play a round robin In your conference. Then save the AFC/NFC matchup for the super bowl.

This would certainly be entertaining.

Personally, I'd love to see an 18-game schedule where you play every team in your conference once (6 home, 6 road) and each team in your division twice (home and home).
