He constantly trotted out terrible players that got accolades and spotlight, because they were shown on FOX 50 times a year, drafted overrated people like Raji and look at the defensive numbers in his tenure; just not good at all.

He's aggressive, which is what I hear Taylor wants his team to be. The last few years have not been kind to him, while his first few years were pretty good with Pack. He did have some really good defenses tho. 2009 was good (won a ring).

On January 19, 2009, Capers was named the Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator by head coach Mike McCarthy and general manager Ted Thompson, where he replaced the 4-3 defense Green Bay had used since 1992 with the 3-4 he used in Miami.[3] Green Bay's defensive ranking in his first year improved to second in the league in 2009, from 21st in the league in 2008.[4]

On September 12, 2010, Capers' defense finished the season ranked 2nd in scoring defense, 5th in total defense, 2nd in interceptions, 2nd in sacks, and 1st in opposing quarterback passer rating, in spite of being decimated by injuries during the 2010 season.[5]

On February 6, 2011, Capers led a 5th ranked defensive squad and helped the Packers win the Super Bowl. During the playoff run his team had a pick 6 in the final 3 playoff games that year; Divisional Round (Williams), Championship game (Raji), and in Super Bowl 45 (Collins.)

On September 8, 2011, Capers began the year where his defense ranked last after finishing fifth the prior year.

Other than his final year it looks pretty damn good to me.

I guess that's what people remember the most.  Looking at the numbers, you have a good point.  What have the recent numbers been like? He was there through 2017.

As many have mentioned, it appears the game has just passed him by and he doesn't have it anymore.

I never liked him or his decisions, even when the team was better, but that's fine.

I think I'd rather give John Fox a call at this point.

So, some good years, sprinkled in with mediocrity, and a couple stinkers.  He'd fit right in with the past regime. LOL

I agree completely. Think it's also worth mentioning they also fought the injury bug pretty hard. Think they lost 3 starters vs the Pats, and they had 16 on IR? Something like that.

Capers also runs a 3-4... so that changes our DL assignments completely. And we would need to draft EDGE guys

ALSO: JDR deemed not a good fit and will not interview later this week

James Casey was with the Texans as their TE coach and Ben Martin was the OC at Union College.

I know little to nothing about these two. Discuss.

EDIT: James Casey was the TE coach for the Houston Cougars and previously played TE for the Houston Texans.

EDIT: Ben Martin is the ASSISTANT OL Coach.

I knew James Casey sounded familiar but I couldn't quite remember where I heard the name. He was the backup to Owen Daniels. Best statistical season was 330 yards, 3 TDs in 2012.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Patience has paid off!

Sorry for Party Rocking!
