Jeremy Hill far ahead of his production last year

According to ESPN (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits/_/id/16803/year/2014/jeremy-hill) Hill averaged only 4.6 yards per carry when Dalton was under center (168 for 769 yards) last year.

But last year does not matter.  Defense change from year to year, and this year they have proven they can stop Hill.  Of course we still need to keep running from all formations, but we can't just keep giving Hill tha ball with dalton under center when he is averaging less than 3.3 yards per carry

Where'd you get that stat?  The page you linked has four formations: shotgun, I, lone setback, and two backs split.

Shotgun was 54 carries for 355.  That means the other carries were with Dalton under center: I- 67 for 355; lone- 90 for 495; tbs- 1 for 5.

Add the carries from the formations with Dalton under center 67+90+1=158.  Add the yards from those carries together 355+495+5=855.  Divide 855 by the number of carries at 158 and get 5.4.

Defenses don't typically change too much, especially in our division, and there's a reason why the best backs in the league are always near the top.

Wow, Hill averaged 6.6 out of the shotgun according to that link. 6.6>5.4
