Joe Manchin changes party affiliation

Manchin has changed his party affiliation from the Democratic Party to an Independent. He previously had announced his decision not to run for the Senate again. This should have little or no impact on the Senate this session. In an election year nothing substantial will come up other than budget bills. He has always gone his own way on judges and such.

No surprise here. I thought that he quietly announced that he was leaving the party a few months ago.
