Last playoff win, where was everyone?
#1
It really is an amazing feat to go this long without a playoff win. I'm just curious where/what everyone was doing back then. So much has changed over this time. Most of our players weren't even born yet. The internet wasn't even invented yet to have a Message Board. Just to put things in perspective here are a few past events from 1991.

Michael Jordan had never won a championship yet.
The Cold War was still a threat. Omg
George Bush Sr. was President
Jeffrey Dahmer was an active serial killer.
Home Alone hit theaters
Ghost was the highest grossing movie.
Madonna Justify My Love #1 song
Wilson Phillips #1 single Hold On
Gas 1.14 Gallon
Hubble Telescope launched
Magic Johnson announced he was HIV Positive
AJ McCarron Not Born yet

This is pretty depressing. Feel free to add to this list.

I was just recently out of the Navy, buying my first home and getting started in the married/family life.

It really blows your mind when you sit and think about how long it's been and in all likelihood is going to continue.

I had turned 2 just a few months prior, so I was likely chasing the cats around the house and throwing rocks through the garage windows... Hey, they're called "The Terrible Two's" for a reason  Mellow

I was a sophomore in high school. I don't even remember it, because I didn't know it would be the last. I don't remember much about that season. Just the tear down afterward.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Ironically, my college team had a reprieve from 3 a day training and we hiked a mountain in Tempe, AZ. We were there for our Christmas Training Trip and although we got killed in practices, it was always nice to be somewhere warm.

While hiking said mountain, I could barely pick the game up on AM radio (with a walkman, remember those?) but I was able to hear the game from time to time.

Gish is so good. Band got kinda weak after that.

I was 20 at time. Since then, I've been married twice and have had 5 kids grow up, 4 of which are now in their 20's and one is a senior in HS...without ever seeing a Bengals playoff win. Crazy to think about.

I became legal drinking age 5 months after that playoff game...and drinking has served me well over the past 26+ years on game days.  Smirk

The day of the last super bowl game we were in I had to kill a family pet, a cat who had lost its tail to a dog (we think) and it became horribly infected so I found the cat in the basement weezing for breath on its last legs (or tail depending on how you look at it).. I decided to put the damned thing out of its misery and the killing process took just too long so by the time everything was over with and I branded myself a cat murderer I had to go pretend to be in the mood for a football game with my friends at the time.. I'm sitting there at opening kick off with near tears in my eyes trying to think about what to say to the wife and kids..and then they lost.. What a shitty day..
At least someone had the foresight to bring plenty of hard liquor so by the end of the day I'd completely forgotten about the cat and the Bengals. ..or the fact that I had a wife and kids at the time..
It turned out pretty good after all..lol
My kids are both in their 30s and one step daughter had already made me a step grampa and now I'm a step great grandpa and probably not that far from being a step great great grampa..  Yes, that's a technical term..lol

I was in 8th grade in 91. Probably talking smack to my friend who was an Oilers fan. I'm not even sure who he follows anymore. At least I still have the Bengals.
