Man Tries To Buy 8-Yr-Old Girl For $200,000
#1
Our world makes me sick and it's incidents like this that make me never want to have any children because now you have to monitor them 24/7 to protect them from creepy people:

Quote:A Florida man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to buy an 8-year-old girl while shopping at Walmart.

Hellmuth Kolb was arrested on Saturday after a woman claimed he approached her while she was sitting on a bench inside the Port Orange Walmart with her daughter, according to WKMG TV.

The woman, Tracy Nigh, told police the 81-year-old Kolb asked her if she was married before changing the subject to her daughter.

“It seemed like a friendly conversation. He didn’t seem like a threat at first,” Nigh told the station.

That is, until Kolb allegedly started badgering Nigh if she would sell her daughter to him.

“The first amount was $100,000, the second amount was $150,000 and then the final amount was $200,000,” Nigh said. “I then said ‘No, we have to go.’”

Nigh said when she and her daughter got up to leave, Kolb allegedly grabbed the girl’s wrist and kissed it, according to WJAX TV.

Nigh then alerted store security, who confirmed the incident was caught on camera. Kolb was later identified through a credit card transaction.

He was charged with simple battery and false imprisonment and booked into the Volusia County Jail and later released.

Police said they’ve had at least one other report of a similar incident a month ago involving a man who fit Kolb’s description.

Officers said when they interviewed Kolb at his residence, he said remembered sitting next to a mother and her daughter at the Walmart. He admitted complimenting the woman, but said he did not remember grabbing her daughter, according to WNDB radio.

The victim later picked Kolb from a photo lineup.

A judge ordered Kolb not to have any contact with the girl or her mother.

First off, how sick and creepy are people?

Second, was he stupid enough to think this would work? What mom just says "oh....... 200k? Ok, she's yours!"?

Third, how do people not realize that there's cameras everywhere now?

SMCH.

People have been arrested for trying to sell their kids for a lot less money than that, and in some cases, just for some drugs.  So, yeah, not that crazy an idea, sad to say.

Sad but I wouldn’t give up the possibilities over a few sick people. People in general are still pretty good. But if I wanted to throw a snake in the boat, I would question why she didn’t react on the first offer? Was she actually questioning the offer, and then another before she realized love for her daughter is more important than money?

The woman was possibly stunned at the offers.

Brad sometimes the parents or guardians are the creepy people.
I am sure you are aware of the malnourished kids that were confined in a basement and other incidents of child endangerment.
At times the civilized world isn't civil.

My exact thoughts....she let him get to the third offer? Maybe he was onto something if he had started at a higher number. Sounds like she was listening.

It's called negotiating.

NEVER TAKE THE FIRST OFFER!
