Hell no.

This whole team sucks.  Get with the program.  At least until AJ gets back.  Even that's debatable. :andy:

Ah, so we're pulling a 2010.  If you aren't on board with the Mike and Marvin show you can get your cancerous, diva ass out of Cincy while we get some young talent that wants to be here.

Dalton and Green are getting old and Bungalized and Mixon is questioning Marvin Lewis, so sweep out the cancers and let's reboot ala 2011 next year.  Get Marvin some players that want to be here.  I'm on board.

Maybe this might light a fire under the team. Then again Marvin will probably bench Joe for the rest of the year

joe is so correct, this oc is a loser,he plays way too conservative,i watched that last game and I just could not believe how they were calling such conservative plays. Its just insane and by this time next year,Joe will want out of here.all the good players leave. eight and eight.

He's not talking about the players because he said "we have the talent to do that". It's on the coaches to use the talent properly, not run the same basic, vanilla formations and plays time after time.

He's probably been watching KC, LA and NO and wondering why the Bengals don't employ some of the same concepts.

Mixon realizes he plays for a team where multiple high-profile players have requested to be traded, right?

This exactly. The Bengals/Steelers at the end was not aggressive, it was just stupid.

He actually said we just got to go out there and do it. Stop talking about it.

Folks want to say he's calling out Marvin, because that's what they want him to do. He very well could be talking about team leaders that run their mouths but then don't leave it all on the field.

Don't worry: Folks have already started the "team has quit on Marvin" narrative again this year

But he lost to the Steelers this year when he went for a td instead of running the ball because he was svcared of the Steelers coming back, and then on defense he lost on an all out blitz on defense.

And he lost to the Bucs in 2010 because he was throwing the ball at the end of the game instead of running out the clock.

He lost to the Bucs in 2010 because the team blew a HUGE lead, nearly identical to this year if I remember that game correctly. They had the whole 2nd half to either slow it down OR pile on the points, which has never been a strong suit of Marvin's; or was it the various coordinators fault? I kinda like what the Browns did, they fired the OC and the coach to be sure to get the right one!

I may, or may not be part of that crowd.  So, let me ask you this one question.  Do you still think that Marvin Lewis is the right man for the HC job of the Cincinnati Bengals?

I would have liked to have seen him replaced at the end of last season; but it didn't happen. But until we are eliminated from playoff contention this year; I'll say yes.

That's the problem a lot of people want to wait until the trains going over the cliff before trying to get off. I have been a Bengals fan since day one and I see the same scenario year in and year out since Marvin got here. People will jump all over me because Marvin has taken us to the playoffs but what has he won when he got there? Year in year out not being able to adjust to what the other teams is doing has handcuffed this team. Marvin was hired as a motivator and he has done that but motivation only goes so far and then you need to out coach your opponent and that hasn't happened in the 16 years he's been in Cincy.

To me it sounds more like he's calling out teammates as well.

Playing a full game with winning intensity/energy and not letting off the gas.

It's not all on coaching from that quote IMO.

That is exactly what he was doing.

The article stated he was telling his teammates to play to win, not telling them the coaches were not doing so.

The thread title is straight click bait...

People could read into it as much as they want.

It was taken out of a conversation, not like he tweeted it, and didn't even allude to coaching.

I read the entire conversation earlier today.....he was calling out players.  He may have been hinting at coaching a little, but it was definitely player related.  That said, I still like it.  Mixon has given great effort when his number has been called, and even went back into the first Baltimore game to put it on ice when he actually needed surgery.

Quote:Running back Joe Mixon hasn’t been called on much lately with 23 carries in the last two games without A.J. Green in the lineup. But he’s keeping the faith. Along with a message to his mates. He thinks in the past few weeks a sense of playing not to lose has seeped into the games.

“We all know A.J. is a great player but somebody has to be willing to do that role. I’m sure we have guys like that,” Mixon said. “I have confidence in everyone in this building … I’m ready to do whatever with whomever. We’re going to be fine. We just have to go out there to win. Stop playing not to lose. We have to go out there to win.”

"Better send those refunds..."

Playing not to lose would be only playing the pass line.

Playing to win is throwing that money down, knowing you may lose big, but hey, you gotta go big to win big.

The key to this analogy is that much like playing against the house, the Bengals almost always lose  Cool

And the fan base would go crazy if the Bengals ended up losing big by taking such a gamble too. People are not going to give the Bengals a pass if they lose just because they were aggressive. The fans want wins and want/expect the Bengals to be able to know 100% when to be aggressive and conservative in order to always win.

Offensive-minded HCs. Go get Bieniemy for HC in the offseason and see if things change.

I think it's aimed at everybody, coaches included. This team tucks it's tail between it's legs at the first sign of adversity. Marvin regularly takes his foot off the gas, this team plays on it's heels way more than not.

It's like even when we're playing well everybody is just holding their breath waiting on the walls to come crashing down. This team plays with little confidence and low energy most of the time.

They need a spark from a new coaching staff in a bad way.
