Mike Lee blocks bills for Latino & Women's museums, says they will divide the US
#1
Mike Lee used Senate rules to block two bills that had bipartisan support for establishing museums for Latino and women's history. Both had passed the house on a voice vote, passed their committees without opposition, and had major Republican backers in the Senate.

Lee claimed that setting up separate museums for groups just helps to further divide the country. He received heavy criticism from both sides over his pathetic display of ignorance.

Typical.

They spend 99% of the time trying to split us all and then cry for "unity" if a minority group might get something.  Strange that it seems to always be a Republican.

Protecting statues of Confederate generals who fought against the Untied States to preserve slavery is "preserving history", but museums are "divisive".

Damn NFL Hall of Fame is just for a very small group of citizens. Guess we need to shut that shit down.

If we accept that argument then we won't be allowed to have mens and women's restrooms anymore. And veterans day is nice, but where is "non veterans" day?
