WTF?

Players at every position get injured.

I guess we should never pay a CB because Waynes got injured, right?

This is not Mixons fault getting injured but my lord do we have a lot of pay going out to a few guys this year that we are getting very little production out of. I really like Mixon but for the most part the line makes a rb. Don't pay big for one.

Another player overpaid and gets injured to often. In my opinion,Mixon isn’t a very durable RB.Before I I sign a player to that kind of money I’m going to look at every aspect of his play.Bobby Hart another example.

Waynes ($10 mill)
Uzomah ($5.9 mill)
Ross ($5.5 mill)
XSF ($2.25 mill)
--------------------------
$38 mill

Players active but not producing well at all:
Green ($18.1 mill)
Atkins ($14.2 mill)
------------------------
$32.3 mill

Players making decent money but relegated to backup:
Price ($3.2 mill)
Shawn Williams ($4.9 mill)
--------------------
$8.1 mill

Total "wasted" cap space = $78.4 mill (37.6% of total cap space for 2020)
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins

I’d add Sample to the not producing group. You could get similar production from an UDFA making league minimum.

Joe Mixon was on pace for 1141 rushing yards and 368 receiving yards.
In total, that was on pace for 1509 yards from scrimmage.

That would have actually been his best season to date.

While I'm also in the camp of don't pay RBs unless you have a run-oriented offense (which we don't), he has been a key contributor every season.
I do think that if his money had gone toward the OL instead of him, we'd have a better offense overall.
But I also said the same thing about AJ lol.

I mean yea, but he only has a cap hit of $1.25 mill this season. The league minimum isn't really far off from that.

It's absolutely reasonable, especially given two more seasons of rookie salary for the other Joe.

Like I said, I was going off the assumption we could get similar production from an UDFA. It’s not really a significant amount of money or anything in the grand scheme of things (neither is XSF though), but it’s another position we’re not getting much from.

I’m sure Mixon is relieved he signed early. I remember there was thought he might try to play this year out before signing to prove his worth. He made the logical choice and it paid off.

I would bet anything he wasn't going to hit any of those projections... You could get his stats out of any RB. I think it was a waste of $ to sign him. He's overrated as hell and there hasn't been much drop off without him .

Bad take that you don't have him in the upper category.

I don't think he's had a full practice all season and he missed the first 4 games outright as his shoulder is clearly not okay.

I mean, come on... you have Ross in the injured category and he wasn't even hurt when he got deactivated for games.
