I only looked at the first two links you've provided.

I'm not gonna knock you for your choices. Everybody's journey is different.

But if you can't find the similarities with Morrison and Cobain, well then ....

LOL...You missed what he was saying.  In fact your argument completely agrees with him.

I get you now.  I know you, I've met you soo often when discussing music with others throughout my 41 years.  I've had discussions with you multiple times.  Often times our musical interests are very similar.  Obviously ours are similar given your like of Tomahawk.  Sometimes it's the opposite though.  Sometimes the music you like isn't remotely similar to mine.  This is always fine with me.  I sometimes get turned on to music I had not given a chance.  Sometimes I find a new group that I really get into.  Often times I don't but I enjoy the moment listening to why you get off on so and so's music.

Most of the time you are a musician at some level with some instrument.  Most of the time is a guitar, and usually you are pretty talented with it.  I enjoy sometimes singing with you at parties and quite often in my past as a band mate.  You are usually a very fun guy to hang out with and party with.

Here's the rub though.  You have an incredible need for those that hit it big to somehow have been given it rather than them working hard for it.  It's easier for you to feel this way as it validates your ever inflated view of your own talent and excuses you since you haven't made it.  It also helps you to rationalize why those bands that you orgasm to on constant basis haven't elicited the same response in others and that's why they haven't skyrocketed.  It helps you maintain your righteous belief that your opinion of music is greater than that of others.  You will make weak veiled arguments that you're happy they are less known, because in your wild mind if those bands somehow became more known their music would suffer.   Using this logic you can somehow look back at the history of a band or and individual within the band and dredge up some video of them, prior to being widely known, and use it as some evidence as to why their latter success is somehow tainted.  Meh is all I end up saying usually to you.  You have entirely too hard and steadfast opinions to truly understand why these musicians were able to grasp the attention of so many people.  Meh is what I usually say because anything else is usually a wast of time.

So put on your skinny jeans, get your ironic glasses on, tug on your beard and scoff at all the plebs you magnificent musical bastard you.  Puff your suspender clad chest out and scream and rage to the world about how you are not going to take it any more.  No, you are not going to take it.
