Fanspeak SHRacerX 2.0 with Compensatory Picks
#1
As much as we tease about the compensatory pick fascination, it was nice to have extra picks to get more of the "nuts and bolts" type of guys for the roster and/or PS.

11: R1P11
DL ED OLIVER
HOUSTON

A bit of a headache, which is dangerous given the high-round selection, but the prospect of him next to Geno on passing downs is simply too much to pass up.  The Bengals could FINALLY get pressure while rushing four, since they seem hell-bent on not blitzing.  He is a potential perennial Pro Bowler in the mold of Geno and Aaron Donald.  A play-maker.  We need a lot of those on defense.

42: R2P10
LB MACK WILSON
ALABAMA

Great lateral movement, a fierce tackler....exactly what we need in the front seven.

72: R3P8
LB KHALIL HODGE
BUFFALO

Ditto Hodge.  He was far and away the highest ranked player here, and the biggest weakness on the roster is now a strength.

110: R4P8
OT DENNIS DALEY
SOUTH CAROLINA

Versatile and tough, our RT of the future.

149: R5P11
RB MIKE WEBER
OHIO STATE

Underrated, versatile RB to fill hole likely left by Walton.

183: R6P10
WR DAMARKUS LODGE
OLE MISS

A bit of a one-trick pony in that offense, but his quick first step and his tenacious blocking make him a great addition to this new offense.

198: R6P25
TE DREW SAMPLE
WASHINGTON

The Bengals finally draft a blocking TE that can catch, instead of trying to develop a bunch of receivers as blockers.

210: R6P37
S MALIK GANT
MARSHALL

Fiery ball-hawk.  Wasn't surrounded by great talent and stood out in every game.  Could push Williams for starting SS role if given ample opportunity.

211: R6P38
OT TYTUS HOWARD
ALABAMA STATE

Great prospect for RT.   Monster athlete.  A bit raw, but could start out as the extra OT in jumbo packages and might develop in to starting material..

213: R6P40
EDGE SHAREEF MILLER
PENN STATE

Quality depth at DE that could push for playing time.

223: R7P9
WR KEELAN DOSS
UC-DAVIS

Small school freak with great production.  Shined at Senior Bowl
