Looks like they'll end up paying a former MVP backup money. Don't see the Pats rolling with just Cam.

That number that was thrown around isn't accurate. It is absurdly incentive-heavy. That $13.6m is if he's healthy for all the games, plays 90% of the offensive snaps, the Patriots make the playoffs, win in the playoffs, win the SB while he plays at least 50% of the offensive snaps is $1.5m, and he gets offseason accolades (like Pro Bowl is $500k, All-Pro is $500k, SB MVP is $1m).

In reality, if he's the backup, it's like 1yr/$5.1m as long as he stays healthy and active all season.
