We were talking about him saying he was going for a gun ban. Praising the supposed success of gun bans in other places isn't saying "this is what we are going to do." His commentary could just as easily be interpreted as saying "they were able to take action when faced with these travesties, we should as well". In the end, this is not saying he is going to ban firearms.

It should also be noted that Australia does not ban firearms. They are highly regulated, but they are not banned. Same for the UK, though even more regulated.

All I am saying is that his rhetoric on this subject fuels the pro gun people. None of this will change until we start educating kids on gun safety and making it mandatory for graduation.

Man, that sounds like another tax hike in the making.

As I was scrolling past another dozen or so Facebook posts about this subject I decided to do some research.

The 2nd amendment was ratified on December 15, 1791.

The total number of days between Thursday, December 15th, 1791 and Friday, January 9th, 2015 is 81,474 days.

This is equal to 223 years and 25 days.

This does not include the end date, so it's accurate if you're measuring your age in days, or the total days between the start and end date. But if you want the duration of an event that includes both the starting date and the ending date, then it would actually be 81,475 days.

If you're counting workdays or weekends, there are 58,196 weekdays and 23,278 weekend days.

If you include the end date of Jan 9, 2015 which is a Friday, then there would be 58,197 weekdays and 23,278 weekend days including both the starting Thursday and the ending Friday.

81,474 days is equal to 11,639 weeks and 1 day.

The total time span from 1791-12-15 to 2015-01-09 is 1,955,376 hours.

This is equivalent to 117,322,560 minutes.

You can also convert 81,474 days to 7,039,353,600 seconds.

And still no one has ever come to take your guns.

Rock On

And you would agree to make something like that for the rest of the nation?
