Obi Melifonwu

6'4".  Has a 44" vertical, runs a 4.4 flat.  How is this even possible?  Does he have any game at all?

You know what is really scary, he does have game. Mellow

Wish we would shore up our O-line in FA so we could draft a player like this.

He does have game, he's a freakish athlete. Dude can move donwhill and sift through traffic. Shown the ability to trick the quarterback into thinking he's playing off, only to make a fast break on the ball and make a play. He uses his frame to block opponents from making a play on the ball.

His biggest issue is he does sometimes hesitate and doesn't always trust his eyes nor instincts. Plus, he sometimes watches rather than reacts to routes.

He has raw aspects, but he could become a star at the next level. I have him tied for my 3rd best safety with Budda Baker.

Thanks, Wolf.  Was hoping you would come by and shed some light.

So many good DB's in this draft, it would almost be irresponsible not to take one somewhere.

In watching the drills, the guy is surprisingly fluid in his backpedal and rotation. That was the knock on him:  "stiff"...well, he must have found a good stretching partner.

When asked where he can play, he responded:  "Corner.  Safety.  Linebacker"  I loved it.  I would actually prefer him as our nickel backer.  Let's see TEs escape THAT.  Hilarious numbers. His long jump was something like 11' 6", which is also insane.

There are a lot of teams who want to try him early on as a CB. The idea of a 6'4 corner who is agile and quick enough to run with the big WR's in the league is something that we have never seen before. If it doesn't work out you can always move him back to safety and have a good player there. I think he ends up an early 2nd when it's all said and done, interestingly enough I think he goes before Peppers.

Maybe a close comparison, but Obi is a bit taller and heavier and a lot faster.

PFF compares Obi to Kam Chancellor. He's got very similar size. Obi just MUCH faster.

Well the question was in reference to a CB with his measurables. The rumor is some teams think he can play CB at that size which is almost unheard of.

I believe him when he says you can line him up anywhere.  I bet he'd be a helluva blitzer.  You will not throw it over him.

Sucks, i want us to draft him but with the way we are handling FA it is looking impossible.

God this is frustrating, we are just tying our own hands.

He's about 210 lbs.  40 of it is biceps.  All of it is muscle.  He looks like he was carved.  I'm thinking, with that speed and put together like he is, when he hits you, you stay hit.

Not saying he is, but Taylor Mays was a similar prospect. So just because he has the measurables doesn't mean he is a guaranteed stud.

NFL COMPARISON George Iloka

Doubt we'll be looking at CB/Safety until the later rounds. But then again, we know sht about the draft room. We've been surprised more often than not in the early rounds lately
