Ogunjobi OUT. Hendrickson may play, so may Derrick Henry
#1
That's the news after Tuesday. Ogunjobi is out for rest of season. He was huge in the middle. Would be great to have Hendickson back. Titans coach wants to see Henry in practice before he makes a call on Henry. Looks like Henry is playing, but Titans coach wants to make sure his injury is OK now.

Everyone playing their cards close to the vest.

That is what NFL coaches do.

Hendrickson would be a huge loss, but assuming he plays, we can't complain about injuries this year. We've been extremely fortunate.

Not really.  Titans coach needs to see in practice how Henry looks after IL.   Bengals would do the same with Burrow.  OK, it's a big game, but you can't career injure your franchise player bringing him back too early.  Titans coach has said for months that Henry would have to show he is in good shape for the coach to play him again this season.  Coach says so far Henry has had no contact in months. Plus coach wants to see him run and cut on that foot in practice first.  As for Hendrickson, he still has to pass concussion thing with the NFL, but he practiced Tuesday with Bengals.  It's not really cat and mouse by coaches. If they pass their tests this week, they will play.

Hendrickson seems to be in either phase 3 or 4 of the protocol, so it looks quite possible he will play. Ogunjobi was much more a pass rusher than a run defender so if we also get Tupou back (which also looks plausible) then we have our best run stoppers out there.

I expect Henry to be back. The guy is the best RB in the league, and ine of the best players overall.

I'm glad Hendrickson is improving. We'll need all the help we can in stopping their running game.

Seems they ran the ball really well without Henry, and were still successful.

Yep the Bengals will need to slow their rushing attack down to win game.

They could already know Henry is not playing as well. You just don't put that info out until you have to.

Even if he plays, you gotta figure they limit Henry somewhat. He hasn't played a game since October, and the injury he had takes some time to come back from. I'd honestly be shocked if he plays on Saturday and completely dominates the game.

I'm more concerned about our weakened pass rush. Tannehill thrives on play action and if he's given all day in the pocket it could pose problems.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Titans have been evaluating Henry for weeks.  They 100% know if he will play or not.

Hendrickson could still be a legitimate question mark or not.  Bengals might already know he is not going to clear protocol by Saturday.

Per Vrabel, he wants Derrick Henry to go through practice because he hasn't really done anything contact-related up until now. He has to get back into the swing of things before they activate him.

This could pose good for the Bengals, potentially using Henry on some type of timeshare with Foreman and Hilliard.

Henry’s playing. You can count on that. Feel
almost as strongly about Trey.

Yeah, I'm sure Vrabel is telling Henry "We've checked your foot out and know it is healed enough to play on, but I just want to make sure the rest of your body can handle the amount of contact you get on practice. I mean it is only a playoff game."

What Vrabel has said for months on the possibility Henry might be back for play-offs, is that the doctors would have to clear him, and Henry would also have to show in practice that he is good to go.  Vrabel has never changed on that in the last months.  That Vrabel will make the final call on if Henry is able to go, once doctors clear him.

Henry has not played a game in months. This would be like Burrow on IL and not playing a game in months. You don't rush the future of your franchise back for one game, even a play-off game, even a Super Bowl, if they are not healthy to take the field.

So Vrabel is not going back and forth on this in cat and mouse tricks. What Vrabel has said for months, Vrabel is saying still.  Now it may be Henry plays, how much he plays is unknown. If Henry plays, don't be surprised it he gets replaced more than usual by the running backs who have been carrying the load in his absence. In other words, Henry may not be 100 % in his first game back and may need more relief help.

On the Bengals end, they would love to have Hendrickson, but that is up to the NFL to clear him on Concussion. That is no longer left up to teams who would run out players who where still suffering concussion and in great risk being on the field. This is not the old days where they would carry Bob Trumpy off the field, give him smelling salts and put him back in the game.

Yes, it s a play-off game, but player health and safety is still important.  If Hendrickson and Henry play, they will have to pass some tests this week in order to play.  It is not throw out the safety rules just because it is the play-offs.

Ogunjobi will be missed.  It sounds like Bengals get a DT back from injury, but Ogunjobi will be missed.  It would be nice to at least have Hendrickson.

Hendrickson will be there playing no doubt!
