EDIT: Well shit, the embedding didn't work. It's basically a big post on complacency and how it's deadly and will lead to failure.

Defense guys gotta be frustrated. I don't mind them popping off maybe it'll get the offense off their butts

Oh boy! Will we see a mutiny here?? Wouldn't it be glorious if the team pulled a Varsity Blues and flat out refused to play for these sorry ass coaches?

Not sure it gets that far, but with that said there are very few things Mike Brown will respond to but the players are one of them. All reports are he really does care about the palyers and if the players as a whole are unhappy I could actually see him doing something about it. It will take more than one or two, but if a large group of them start voicing their displeasure it could get interesting. Media pressure won't do it, but pressure from within can.

Good. I'm standing with the players on this one. MB showed a alarming lack of foreshadowing by being two years late on the rebuild. Sticking with Marvin through two windows slammed (shattered) shut that saw our best coaches get top jobs elsewhere. Mistakes of an year old man, and now in jeopardy of losing another locker.

On this pitiful celebration of our 50 years, the old saying rings true.

The more things change.....

Yeah...the same defense that allowed Watson to run for a 49 yard TD and allowed the Texans to go on a long drive at the end of the game eating the clock to kick a fg.

A Texans team with a QB making their 1st start. Missing their starting Tackle to holdout. With 3 TE's injured starting a practice squad guy. And only 3 WR's with their #2 out.

Yeah, and only managed 125 yards passing? 266 yards total.  Defense not the problem

The coaches (and especially Lewis) have clearly lost the locker room at this point (if they hadn't already).
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins

Any good players we have will eventually get mad and want out. Or be bungalized. Mike Brown will remain. Marvin Lewis and co will also probably remain.

Rinse, repeat. This is life as a Bengals fan. Unfortunately, many Bengals fans turn on the players (Andy right now, Chad, Dillon, Pickens, etc in the past) instead of the people that truly deserve all the ire.

The players aren't stupid. They see what we see. Complacency sums up our offseason well.

The o-line wrecked our season last year. What did we do? Fire Paul Alexander? Nope. Bring in a good veteran tackle? Nope. Draft a guy? Not really.

Zampese was a complacency hire. Keeping Marv is complacency. Not trading McCarron for a pick was complacency. Mike Brown has always been content with mediocrity. Now we're seeing the result of that mentality. Again.

That's what is maddening to me.

During the off-season it's all about Marvin, The FO and the o-line/o-line coach. As soon as the season starts it's all about Andy.

Somebody in the locker room last night said something like' We lost to the worst team'.

Newsflash dude, 'the worst team' just lost to the Texans. Ok, second or third worst team as the Colts & 49rs hold those last two spots.

If the Colts and 49ers score a TD this week, I think it's safe to say we're #32.

Carlos Dunlap should shut up and focus on getting a sack. he's been shutout against 2 terrible Olines.

Yep. And fans were giddy that we made 5 straight playoffs. That in and of itself was complacency. Bringing in an established coach then could have got us to a Super Bowl.

Not how the Bengals roll.

Fans are just happy we're not 3-13 every year like the 90's.

Fans don't call the shots so why does it matter?

Fans could have that power. An empty stadium would be a powerful sight. Unfortunately, there will always be 50k + that always decide to go.

Too bad who-dey revolution lost momentum in 2009. They had a good start.

A lot of that happens because more people are here during the season than the offseason.  Although some are turning on him now.  He hasn't looked that great, to say the least, but he looked pretty damn good until 2016.  I wonder what happened then? Hmm

That's a really good point b.....however, it just wouldn't hold much water if it came from say, Chris Smith.  If Geno talked, he would be the ideal spokesman for the defense.
