VA medical care spending increases since 2000 have outpaced private health spending increases in the US, $62.8b in 2022 alone. It's not a matter of party efforts, it's just a matter of giant inefficient bureaucracy. It's also up there with the US spending the most per student than anyone else in the world, but not getting anywhere near the best results back. Not nearly smart enough to know what IS the perfect solution to everything, but if you're already #1 in spending, throwing even more money at it probably isn't the answer.

Probably moving the spending to where it is needed is the answer.

Many school districts and hospitals are "top heavy" and the money looks the same but it is going to administrators, not going to where it would do more good.
